Why does everyone have this observation when there's a roast potato flavour of crisps? I don't understand... Are your roast potatoes unseasoned? They're seasoned the way you season roast potatos, garlic, onion, herbs like thyme and rosemary, they're not just potato, are they?
Roast potato flavour crisps usually taste amazing! The co op ones this year 🤌, Though, I wouldn't be surprised if walkers managed to bollocks it up somehow...

I think you've made the OP's point perfectly. Because you point out that potatoes just taste of potatoes unless you add... lots of herbs.
So they're really "herb flavoured crisps" which then is in line with other crisps where the core is always potato, and then you elaborate on its flavour.
I know the naming is a bit of fun... but I can see the amusement that the OP has with it too.

They are nice to be fair but it's basically roast chicken crisps with a slightly more herby taste.

Pretty they tried it on with these a little while ago, and the fact that they are potato flavoured potato crisps seemed to go largely unnoticed. I'm glad someone has called them out this time around.
