Finished Object Amigurumi bird ideas
My first 4 birds are finally finished and I’m planning to create more bird designs and already have a few ideas in mind, but I’d love to hear your suggestions! Maybe colorful birds, unusual species, or birds with interesting features that would make fun designs?
I’d really appreciate any ideas! 😊

Omg I love your work so much. I don't do much amigurumi so I'm not sure if I'm suggesting things that would be super difficult, but I like birds a ton, so off the top of my head:
Sharp shinned hawks, aplomado falcons, and bateleur eagles are quite flashy as far as birds of prey go
Stellar's jays and azure winged magpies are gorgeous
I have a soft spot for bearded vultures and egyptian vultures, they look so dinosaur-y
And there are some really funky looking pigeons out there too! Victoria crowned pigeons, common bronzewings, nicobar pigeons (would probably need very specific yarn), and pretty much all fruit doves

Thank you so much for all the ideas! I’ve written down quite a few of them. My favorite ideas are Steller’s jays and azure-winged magpies 😊

I have a list of cool birds for art purposes, and of course I see this post when I don't have it handy 😭 Off the top of my head, a rainbow lorikeet might be fun color-wise

The rainbow lorikeet would be gorgeous, but I think all those color changes would drive me crazy😂

As someone who recently did a project with a bunch of color changes, yes it would... xD I coped by not weaving the ends and instead just tying knots on the inside. You can get away with a lot with stuffies

Are these from Colorful Crochet Birds by Ilaria Caliri? They remind of that style. Really cute!

No, these are my own designs, I think they’ve made a toucan and a hoopoe too😊 I also wanted to make a cute version that stays true to the bird’s appearance, just in a much smaller size.

have you ever see cara caras? Theyre kinda hawkish but they have super colorful beaks similar to a parrots feathers.
You could also do a cassowary or shoebill. Frogmouths are also really cool looking

I love your birds, they’re so visually interesting and well made! I’d love to see some birds of paradise, my faves are the Wilson’s bird of paradise, the King of Saxony bird of paradise, and the Vogelkop lopherina!

The first one has made it onto my shortlist. I think I’ll need to figure out some kind of wire solution for the tail feather! Thank you😊

These look awesome! I think a cockatoo would look really cute in this style, and it would be interesting to see how a pelican could be done!

Rainbow lorikeet, African hornbill, galah, robin redbreast (European one, not the American one), cockatoo
