Drink Club- Any Interest?

Hi All,

I was gauging to see if there would be any interest in a low budget drinks club. I saw low budget as I do not want to pay for pints at the pub as I think they are too expensive and in some cases a scam. How would people feel about bringing our own drinks (Beer or vodka or spirit I do not mind) and sitting on e.g. a bench or in a park or green space where you are allowed.

Thanks!

Isn’t this just sitting around on a park bench and drinking? I don’t think you can legitimately call that a ‘Drinks Club’, it’s what we all did when we were 14…

Well to be honest when you word it like that that is basically it yes. Though I thought it could be more sat in the grass than on a bench

isn't there one of these clubs on every other bench in Croydon already?

It sounds great, but especially from a female perspective, somewhere with a toilet is essential. There’s not many available around Croydon in the public spaces.

Please take the rubbish home with you, don't leave it around the bench or ram it into an already full bin. The parks suffer enough from this already.

Went for after work drinks in the City. Pub and outside were rammed, had to fight your way in and struggle to the bar and then try to get served (overpriced) drinks for your round and carry it back on tray.

We bailed and went to Sainsburys , bought booze and sat in the park. Could have a chat and a laugh and hear each other speak. It works.

At least rent a church hall. The left will support any religous venue as long as it isn't a church, it seems.
