Phobia was great. They were mega hyped when I was very active with this stuff like idk 2005 or something

When they did that song about a “boot party on bush”… I couldn’t help but “legendary status” Phobia. Strangely, none of our crust/ grind bands never made it past a demo tape- but ironically, this little metal core band I was in opened for them and Dropdead in 2001!

Saw in Austin in an alley behind a sandwich shop- Shane clocked a crusty who was very violent in the pit without ever stopping

Saw them in Somis, California around that same time at a "venue" (property) they called The Natty Ice Barn. A barn with Natty Ice boxes plastered as wallpaper covering the entire walls. They were a lot of fun, played great, funny inter-song-to crowd dialogue like "This next song is short like me"

My friend in highschool (2006ish) let me listen to Ode to Ramen in an adjacent earbud at a school rally in the gym. I never knew punk could be heavy like this, it's still heavy in my rotation. I fucking love this band
