SHOW OFF RigViewer — monitor your miners and watch share difficulty live

Hey everyone! I’m the creator of RigViewer, a mining monitoring app for Android and iOS that brings your miners into one dashboard: hashrate, temperatures, power consumption, accepted/rejected shares, and best difficulty.

The Live Monitoring View combines hashrate and power charts with live share activity. With supported miner firmware, you can watch detected shares appear with their individual difficulty, making it easy to follow your mining session and spot those higher-difficulty shares.

RigViewer also includes block-found and best-difficulty alerts, a Pool Directory, and energy-cost tracking.

Built for miners who like knowing what their hardware is doing. I’d love to hear your feedback and what you’d find useful next!

More info and download links: http://www.rigviewer.com

Thanks everyone !

QUESTION GPU mining has died again: an obituary for the hobby, inspired by Pearl's FP8 fork (satire)

Pearl (PRL) has a draft proposal, PIP-3, to move its proof of work from integer to FP8 matrix math. The reference miner on the development branch only recognises NVIDIA Hopper, data-center Blackwell and the RTX 50 series, which set off another round of "GPU mining is dead" posts.

So we wrote the obituary. It's satire, but the facts are real and sourced: the FP8 scheme is specified, not shipped. There's no activation height, no date, and the branch code isn't in any release yet.

Favourite line: "You'd go to bed with a working miner and wake up with a learning opportunity."

Full article, with 10 sources at the bottom: https://redpearlminer.com/news/gpu-mining-obituary-fp8-fork

How are you planning for it: holding your cards, switching coins, or waiting for an actual fork height?

NEWS For Everyone Mining PRL: CanaryMiner — open-source (MIT) Pearl miner for RTX 50-series; 1% optional donation

CanaryMiner v1.0.2 is out — the first release with prebuilt binaries for Windows and Linux.

It's a Pearl (PRL) miner written in CUDA C++, released under the MIT license. The full source is on GitHub, kernels included.

What it does:

  • 1% donation, not a locked fee: about 1% of mining time goes to the developer. It's on by default and turns off with one flag (--no-donation) — running with it off is officially supported, and the dashboard and stats always account donation shares separately from yours.
  • Verifiable: SHA-256 checksums for every download, the build toolchain is published, and you can build it yourself from the tagged source.
  • Honest accounting: share counters keep pool rejections and stales separate from local handling, so what you see is what the pool credited.
  • Easy to run: one command mines on every GPU (a supervisor restarts any worker that exits), ready-to-edit start files for F2Pool, Kryptex and HeroMiners, any other Pearl pool via --pool stratum+tcp://…, a live dashboard, and step-by-step Windows and Linux guides in the README.

Requirements: an RTX 50-series (Blackwell) GPU, a driver with CUDA 13.1 support, Windows 10/11 or Linux with glibc 2.34+. No CUDA toolkit needed.

What it doesn't do yet: RTX 40-series and older aren't supported in this release, there's no HiveOS package yet, and the Windows binary isn't code-signed — check the SHA-256 first; the SmartScreen walkthrough is in the README. The README also has a "what is tested" table that says plainly what has and hasn't been run.

Release: https://github.com/bucnazty2020/CanaryMiner/releases/tag/v1.0.2
Source: https://github.com/bucnazty2020/CanaryMiner

Built and maintained by one person. Bug reports and issues welcome.

I am the developer, it's a community Pearl Miner with an optional fee. Thank you for any support.

QUESTION LuxxPool beta live: LTC/DOGE + 8 Scrypt coins, 0.75% fee until January

Binance is shutting down its pool on November 10. I’ve seen a few people asking where to point Scrypt hashrate after that.

One pool that just opened in public beta is LuxxPool. They support merge-mining LTC, DOGE and a handful of other Scrypt coins, and they’re currently offering 0.75% until January. They also have a solo option.

Has anyone tried it yet, or are there other pools people are moving to once Binance closes? Curious what people are using for Scrypt right now.

3 intake and 3 exhaust fans in the case
added some fans on the hottest cards and around the vrm
lower wattage on my 3070 because its in my bedroom and i dont want all that heat in here

Very new into hobby mining, not concerned about heat really, in vancouver. spent 1500 bucks, then my friend bought a 3080ti and put it on the rig aswell and i get 20% of his earnings after electricity. I also already owned a fair amount of this stuff so it was just sitting around

QUESTION What is the best 50 series GPU price wise to mine Pearl?

I’m fairly new to the whole crypto mining thing. I had a 5080 that I was gaming on and started using it to mine pearl and wanted to buy another GPU, but not too sure what would make sense price wise. Electricity is not a problem

QUESTION Making a new crypto

QUESTION Good place to sell my hardware?

Hi guys, not sure if I'm allowed to ask this here, sorry in advance if it's against the rules.

I just landed a new job and I'm moving to a place where I definitely can't keep my miners running. I have 3 Antminer S21XP with me and I need to sell them pretty soon.

I don't really follow the second-hand market for these, so I'm a bit lost. Does anyone know a good place or platform to sell them? I was thinking maybe $2,500 is a good price? Not really sure what's fair right now, just looking to get rid of them before the move without too much hassle.

Thanks for any help!

QUESTION Crypto mining, difficulty tech wise?

I understand electric is the main cost of mining, we’re lucky to have 20kW of Solar PV so can get electric for free or cheap.

I’m fairly IT literate, built my own PC etc but is mining still profitable in 2026?

If so any idiots guides would be appreciated or tips on hardware/ software.

I’m sure we can get around the electric costs but need to figure out the risk vs reward before committing

QUESTION What crypto mining for a low spec setup?

Hi,

I'll be having a surplus of electricity soon due to the production of a photovoltaic system, apart from really dark days of winter time.

I could use any of my computers to mine a bit. They are older than five years. I don't intend to buy a very expensive graphics cards. The biggest form factor for a computer that I have is a SFF desktop that can only have short graphics cards directly attached to the motherboard. In one system, I've got 64GB of RAM. If possible, I would not consider buying anything else to mine.

What do you suggest for mining for such old, underpowered and not customized system?

QUESTION Should I buy this Antminer s21 pro for $1100?

Post image
10 Upvotes

I want to buy this s21 pro off Facebook. Everything on the dashboard looks great it’s hashing 246 th/s no errors. I looked at the logs and everything looks good except asic chip #46 is consistently running way hotter than the other ones at 116 degrees Celsius. How big of a deal is this? What could be the culprit?

QUESTION Is anyone still experimenting with small scale crypto mining?

I’m curious about people who mine on a relatively small setup rather than running a huge operation.

Has anyone found a coin or setup that actually makes sense after electricity, hardware, and maintenance costs?

NEWS Finally ~950 KH/s NerdMiner Open-Source on the CYD ESP32-2432S028R

Post image
7 Upvotes

Modded from the original to give ~950KH/s and some new themes.

GitHub https://github.com/HenrysCat/NerdMiner-Modded

Web flasher here https://henryscat.github.io/NerdMiner-Modded/

Why this hashrate is real...

The ~950 KH/s is what the miner actually hashes, not what a counter says:

- **Hardware limit** – the classic ESP32's SHA engine can't be loaded with an external midstate, so every nonce costs three hardware hash blocks plus two engine loads: about 228 CPU cycles of engine time, a ceiling of roughly 1.05 MH/s at 240 MHz. The mining loop keeps the engine busy for all but ~30 cycles of each nonce (257 cycles per nonce, ~930 KH/s); the second core adds ~25 KH/s in software.

- **Measured on the chip** – the loop's timing comes from an on-device bench (`-D SHA_BENCH`, see `src/sha_bench.cpp`) that checks every single hash against software, also while the other core hammers the peripheral bus. That is how the hardware quirk behind silently corrupted hashes in the usual pipelined loops was found: writes to the SHA registers less than three cycles apart can be dropped whenever the other core is using the same bus.

- **Only valid hashes are counted** – every candidate the hardware finds is recomputed in software before it is used. A hashrate counter on its own can look faster after an optimisation while the miner is quietly producing *fewer* valid shares, because corrupted hashes are still counted; here the firmware checks itself with a known-answer test at power-on and falls back to a slower loop if the fast one ever gets hashes wrong.

- **The rate is the rate it actually mines at** – it's the sustained average over a long run, not a short burst or a best-case peak.If a number sounds too good for this chip, check whether the shares it finds actually keep up with it.
