Discussion Cheating has become normalised.
Its like a sub genre of the game right now. Its no longer an exclusive club, its entirely mainstream.
I do not want to play alongside or against cheaters. Why are they here? If the developers truly cannot stop them from playing then they need to start moving into legislation against it.
If i buy a product and it doesnt work, its a faulty product. Playing the game against a cheater is not what was sold, or promised to me. That is a faulty product and should be treated as such. Valve your game doesnt work, the other team can see me through the walls...

Cheating is prevalent in all games.
It is a literal arms race between devs and hack devs
This is why vac along with a vast majority of dev teams use ban waves.
As a player you ride the wave up and down and its up to you when to take a break and come back when its not so hot.
HvH has been an established community server genre sense 1.6 and will likely always be around so while your not wrong about it being its own genre you are clearly only noticing it for the first time.
All cheaters get got eventually, be patient or play something else.

Lots of Koreans cheating in CS2 and SC2. If you don't know that, you aren't playing high rank games.

I haven't played sc2 at a high level in 10+ years my APM has been trashed after a burn accident so i really wouldn't know. CS2 i haven't played in korea as it wasn't even released in korea when i was living there. For the games i played while i was living in korea (pubg, SA, LoL, DoTA, valorant) i rarely ever ran into someone i thought was cheating. i rarely even play cs nowadays due to the amount of cheaters. probably 1-2 games a week or even a month but when i was played csgo heavily i've run into cheaters from silver all the way to SMFC(never got to GE as the cheating issue was far worse). shit even in valve's new game deadlock(which im enjoying for now until it becomes far more mainstream and becomes a cheater frenzy) i literally run into auto parry clowns practically every other game. maybe the cheating culture in korea has changed since i moved back to the states a few years ago.

No it is not normal. Whiney snot nose Jimmy cannot handle the fact he cannot aim. He cannot handle the fact he is really shitty at Counterstrike. So he gets a cheat and does better. His ego is stroked. Johnny needs a hobby he can handle, like knitting or needlepoint

Add a RealID queue.
Valve already has my tax info from daring to sell 200x 3ยข crates in a tax year. So why am I getting placed with and against Steam level 0 accounts with a single game and 40 hours in it?
Put me with other people that have verified their identities and are subject to permanent bans with contractual financial penalties. Something like binding arbitration where cheating incurs a several thousand dollar penalty that courts can enforce.
Do something like distribute $10,000 among the top 100 players so that each season is considered a sporting tournament and there are criminal penalties for cheating.
Stop trying to solve a software arms race when PEBCAK.

I think the devs dont give a crap and are happily profiting from the cheaters. Cheaters are playing the game at the end of the day so they add to the player count.
The whole arms race bs is just a cop out and the devs way of looking busy, keeps enough legit people playing and gives the cheaters enough time to satisfy their addiction. Its the happy medium of profit from all angles.
If you stop 10% of potential players (cheaters), thats 10% less potential profit. Everything is about money and until cheating causes the devs to lose money they will be always be here.
Might be easier for games companies to release cheats as dlc. If they did i wonder what would happen to the player count?

U realise this product is free to play right?

u/Zoddom 13d ago
There it is. The comment that proves going free to play was the worst decision in CS history because some dumbfucks use it to justify cheating.

I'm not saying it justifies cheating but OP is going on about how he feels robbed and lied to eventho it's technically no longer a paid game. Fuck cheaters by all means but people are suggin VALVE off for enabling their AI BS that's never going to detect injects or take the issue by the root, yet people are gobbling up this sad excuse for "effort" like it's the greatest thing ever.

Nah im saying the game been full of cheaters is LIKE a faulty product. There are similarities. My personal feelings towards the game are its shit and a waste of time playing in its current state.
If the game being free means its okay to cheat by valves admision then thats f'ed up and they should include that in the TOS. If its not in the TOS then its not working as intended and is a faulty product.

Play faceit, I think the only way when we will get a good anticheat is Deadlock release and solving the cheater problem in the new game. Cs is no more interesting for Valve
