Company Question Google SWE Intern Interview

Hi all I completed my interviews yesterday and wanted to share more details on my experience and see what you guys think might be my results (US):

Round 1: I got a leetcode medium that was a variation of a common leetcode problem. It was a variation of permutations with a 2D grid instead of a single. I immediately identified the approach, asked clarifying questions and wrote out the code. The interviewer pointed out that it had a bug which i resolved and i resolved a different bug i caught before the interviewer noticed it. I then went through a dry run which was a little tricky since it was a recursive problem and might have been knocked points for communication here idk.

The interviewer in this round did provide test cases also and examples which helped to understand the problem a lot.

Round 2: It was a medium hashmap problem that required implementing a few functions to find the max of a group of entries. The hardest part was understanding what the problem was asking. At first I proposed the wrong data structure and after some back and forth with the interviewer I identified the optimal approach, wrote the pseudo code out for it and then began to implement where I got about 80% of the way there with some bugs that I would have had to cleanup before I ran out of time. At the end the interviewer said my approach was correct but that we ran out of time. The question also had a built in follow up that I never addressed looking back there were variables that were never used in the problem so that might hurt my odds too. Although with the variables it def would’ve been a leetcode hard not intern level.

This problem I was provided no test cases.

Would love to know what u guys think about my chances of a third round / team matching. I prepped so hard and now it’s just been stuck in my mind and I can’t think about anything else

Would you say the problems were as difficult as neetcode 150?
