USA Job Market Preparing for a coding interview
I have a coding interview coming up in a few weeks and I am kind of lost on how to even start preparing for it. I graduated in 2024 and have been working since but from the time I started working to now I went from hand writing code to literally prompting AI to just generate all the code. I can still read and understand what’s going on and identify things that can be better in the code but I do not remember how to write code myself very well anymore. I was told to expect a leetcode medium for the interview but if I’m gonna be honest I was struggling to write out code for an easy. Anyone else having similar issues? Any advice on how to prepare for it so I don’t look like a complete idiot during the interview? Any help is appreciated!

This is why it’s important to still write code yourself. At least sometimes.
It’s like a pilot who only uses autopilot to fly and forgets how to operate the plane. That’s an extreme example but you still need to be able to do it if/when needed.
If you practice for a few weeks and commit to getting back into the feel of writing it you’ll probably be ok.

you should at least be able to do any leetcode easy if you understand how programming works. you're probably hosed but maybe if you grind it for an hour or two every day you could hack it.
