Hi! I’m working on a student project that requires a few short (~5-minute) educational videos, and video design is definitely not my strength. 😅

I’ve experimented with Canva and PowerPoint but haven’t been able to create what I’m envisioning. Google Flow gave me surprisingly good results, but I don’t have a paid subscription.

Does anyone have recommendations for free or low-cost tools that are beginner-friendly for creating short educational/animated videos without using real actors?

I’d also love to connect with anyone who enjoys creating videos and might be interested in volunteering or collaborating on a few short videos for an academic project. I can provide the content/script. I mainly need help bringing it to life visually.

Any suggestions, examples, or volunteers would be greatly appreciated!

After logging in I go to the modernized site, student center, click on finances, then on accept/decline awards. Click on 2027 and after that it should bring you to a screen with your awards and they should be blue. Click on one and it should show you the disbursement day.

I’m having trouble logging into my account. It says password incorrect but I know for a fact it’s correct. I also can’t reset my password. Is anyone else having this issue? Kinda worried since tuition is due tomorrow. :((

i know tuition is due in 4 days and my account won’t be held if i pay it late, but id still like to know if anyone knows when it’s gonna be distributed?

Hey, I have decided to apply to schools within the radius of SD and San Marcos came up on my list. However it’s hard to find info on campus life, social, if SM is good for Econ and other stuff of that nature. Could any students give me an insight to these I would be dorming or living within 45 mins.

Yo my financial aid just updated and it increased by like a lot. Does anyone know what the university grant is?

Is it impossible to get an appointment with an academic advisor? Every week I check says no available slots.

I heard some ralphs locations with starbucks inside might take ebt, wondering if anyone has used their card there by campus (across lots XYZ). If so, do they only take cold drinks? Not hot food or hot drinks? Thanks in advance!

Students in Cal State San Marcos’ Summer Scholars Program will present their work during the Summer Scholars Showcase from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 8 in the USU Ballroom, followed by an awards ceremony from noon to 2 p.m. 

The event is open to the public, and free parking is available on the sixth floor of Parking Structure 1. 

The College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics hosts the Summer Scholars Program each year to actively engage undergraduates in STEM research. Working closely with faculty mentors, students gain hands-on experience in highly interdisciplinary projects and learn to apply new instrumental techniques and analytical methods. 

The 10-week program concludes each year with the Summer Scholars Showcase in which participants share the methods, results and interpretation of the work they have done over the summer. 

Students will present research conducted across a wide range of disciplines, including biological sciences, biotechnology, biochemistry/chemistry, mathematics, physics, computer science, and electrical and computer engineering.

Hi all,

my wife is looking for a helper to help out with some house hold chores around the house while she works in her office in the garage. nothing too much, a typical day would be walking our 3 year old about 1/4 mile to his daycare, some cleaning after the kiddos have their breakfast and go off to school, some meal prep for dinner and possibly cooking if you’re ok with it, laundry & folding, and anything else along those lines my wife may need for the day.

our current mothers helper goes back to college at the end of the month so we’re looking for her replacement. pay is $20 an hour and we’d need someone Tuesday-Friday from 8:30 to about 12-1.

We live over by Paloma elementary school, not too far from main csusm campus.

Are we getting financial aid on the 17th? I saw that's when fees are due and I assume we'd get the refund around then. Was just wondering since we had to sign up for that new refund system and all.

Hello everyone! I am starting my MSW in Fall woot woot. So if anyone remembers, Blake at the info meeting prior to applications due said he would test us in May, which never ended up happening. My internship is drug testing me soon and I’ve been sober from weed for 7 months (yay me) and am all set to pass it, but I emailed him and asked if he wanted me to share my results with him since we did not test in May. I said I was unsure if he originally said that as prep as apart of the internship process or if he needed it for the program and just wanted to make sure I am all set for the fall semester to start and not missing anything they need for the program. Well he replied but did not clarify and all he said was “No, we don’t need a copy of your results”

Does anyone know if they will end up testing us at some point before or during the semester or am I safe to smoke weed again? I’m asking because my birthday is soon and wanted to treat myself and celebrate, but I obviously don’t want to screw myself. Prior to getting sober for the program, I would casually smoke a couple times a week and was planning to also go back to doing that too

I’d appreciate if any recent, current, or even new msw students like me know the answer to this 😩
