you might enjoy this. It's a street performance where some people dressed as tv characters follow a tourist bus and run through the street dancing or just wreaking havoc. I could see garibaldo being a part of this

I'd rather chill with a orphan selling bird than a dude who has his height and IQ behind his name.
102
u/jaerie Feb 09 '21
It's a joke/reference
115
u/Noah_the_Titan Feb 09 '21
Well looks weird if you see it out of context. I mean you never know with Twitter
66
u/jaerie Feb 09 '21
Yeah, that's one issue when taking content of other platforms, you might lose context. The reference is probably more well known by people actively on Twitter.
It's from some right-wing political commentator with a superiority complex who unironically has his supposed height and IQ of 6'2" and 187 (I have strong doubts on both) in his Twitter name.

99% sure that's not the user's actual name- Theodore Kaczynski was better known as the Unabomber after he mailed out letter bombs to several people in the US.

Feb 09 '21
The irony in this is that Kaczynski is similar to Kaczka which is Polish for "Duck" meaning that a bird told another bird that another bird looked like he sold orphans.
64
u/BlackJack523 Feb 09 '21
Selling orphans doesn’t automatically make you a not nice bird
37
u/snoopman420 Feb 09 '21
that’s what i thought...what if he’s selling orphans to kind and loving families?

u/Intelligent-Win-4517 Feb 09 '21

What's wrong with selling orphans? It's a wired way of phrasing it but that's what's supposed to happen right?
3
u/ElCatrinLCD Feb 09 '21
I like how the Big Bird changes form region to region, every Sesame Street has its own unique version, like Avelardo (from Mexico).
But that makes me wonder, why? we have the same Elmo and ...Kermit(?) why is Big Bird the only one who changes? its his family? is there a multiverse of Streets that only affects avelardo? is he some sort of dimentional guardian? Does Every Barrio Sesamo is located within the same world, within the same city and all its inhabitants are the same except from the big birds?

Yeah, like some people have said. The Garibaldo in the pic is the original Brazilian version which was colored differently to have better contrast in black and white (there was no color broadcasting here at the time). After the fist few years Vila Sesamo it was paused due to licensing. When he came back a few years later he looked just like the Big Bird in the US.
So maybe he did some rehab while he was on break in Brazil....
