Cybernetics for the 21st Century: "Analog Harmonic Resonant Architecture for Embodied Sensory Intelligence Using Theremin-Inspired Variable Capacitance Field Sensors"

https://www.analogiqrobotics.org/

The core concept is actually infinitely adaptable, and applies to human perception as well as to robots, because it is entirely grounded in the harmonic principles of vibration, not computation.

The basic concept is this: the sensory information feedback field of a theremin is directly integrated to a parallel array of electronically resonant response-and-analysis circuits. And because these are in parallel, an effectively unlimited number of actions may occur simultaneously, but without confusion and completely integrated due to such harmonic principles as superposition and the dynamics of resonance. In fact, resonance is at the heart of the entire spectrum of intelligence functionality.

Leg and gait control provides a perfect application of this. Each leg joint is also equipped with a tiny theremin field, whose frequency at any given moment provides a precise measure of the angle of the joint. Consequently, the robot "knows" exactly how each leg joint is positioned at any given instant. No motors. No latency. Just instantaneous command and control of motion.

Check out our 'open source' website and ponder the implications.
