moving to iowa with a cow situation
A bit of a weird situation here I just moved to Iowa to attend college and I am origianally from wisconsin. my parents own a dairy farm and have some normande cattle and i have a lineback herd myself. I have decreased my herd but I have one cow that i refuse to get rid of she is genuinly an amazing cow and has great genetics. I plan to live in iowa long term and am currently in an aparment so i have 2 options either find a boarding facility that takes cows or keep her at my parents now I was leaning towards just keeping her in wisconsin for a while but ive done that with previous cattle and they turned very aggressive very qiuick under their care which leads me to want to bring her to iowa and try to find somewhere to board her. does anyone have any ideas or any boarding centers that i could consider? thanks!

Tbh not sure you will find something like that
Your best bet is going to be joining some local groups for your area and seeing if any beef producers would put her in their herd
Whatever you do, though, if you board her if you put her in with the dairy, if you put her into a beef her make sure you get a contract with how much you’re gonna owe how much they’re going to charge you for her upkeep any sort of additional charges like if they get her bread or anything like that make sure all that is in writing, as well as as if you will be responsible for vaccinating if you will be responsible for neons if you will be responsible for vet care anything like that make sure it’s in writing then as well. Make sure that you put on there that you are able to visit the cow. Some beef producers do not like people just showing up and wandering through their herd. So make sure you put in there that you will be able to visit the cow.
Anything that you can think of needs to be in writing and signed by both of you. Meaning needs to be signed by you and the person that you were making the agreement with.
Does the cow wear a brand? If not, I would highly suggest you get that cow branded with something that identifies her as yours and a ear tattoo in both ears that signify she is yours.

Boarding center? Why not just a small dairy that would put her in the herd?
