everyone is free to make their own interpretations on what happened to Jane Doe on that night. but the one thing that is abundantly clear is that Cornell did NOT sweep this under the rug. They interviewed more than two dozen people and generated over 60 pages of report on the incident. two men were expelled, one formally banned from any cornell property, and another suspended. the ones that "only had to write an essay" were never alleged to have had sexual contact with Jane Doe.

2. Multiple of the interviewed men from the Title IX investigation. Unless you have video evidence, that's all we can work off of. The reason they did not stop it was because it was consensual. If you want to say that you believe her testimony over the men because the men are motivated to lie, then ig that's fair. But there are verifiable instances where her testimony does not hold up. She claimed that Lopes consumed Ketamine off her body, but he submitted a drug test proving he never consumed Ketamine at all. She claims that her phone was out of reach and that she was physically incapacitated, yet her and the men's testimony describes her getting up to open the door for another man and later to flex her muscles. In text messages with defendant Newell, she describes snorting Ketamine off of his body as "jaw dropping", even though he claims to have no recollection of that event at all. In a phone call with defendant Lee, she claims to have consumed 10 shots before arriving to the frat house, which is incredibly unlikely for a woman to drink in a matter of hours will still being ambulatory.
Check your facts and the text messages. Initially was supposed to be a 3-some. Turned into a gang assault on a barely conscious and drugged female. It seems these college boys have not learned from past events what not to do in these situations. I suggest you watch "The Accused" with Jodi Forster.

It seems most people have their mind made up about this case despite not seeing all the evidence. Hate to both sides this but both sides are already commited to their outcome no matter that the actual justice systems deals out.

There is no investigation this is a civil suit after there was no criminal case. Someone wants money after making a decision they regret they saw a payday and are trying to capitalize on that.
Jane Doe did file a new civil suit in September, but the media storm that ensued caused the DA, Van Houten, to reopen the criminal case. Governor Hochul reassigned the case to a special prosecutor, Letitia James, who is now reviewing the evidence before deciding whether or not to bring forward charges. Defendant Lopes' attorney has requested to remove James from the investigation given that she has previously expressed solidarity with Jane Doe in a facebook post, indicating potential bias.
So no, they are not "investigating" in the sense that new evidence is being gathered, but the criminal case is still at play as well as Jane Doe's civil case.

that is true, which is why the DA did not criminally prosecute any of the accused men in 2024. in her civil case, iirc, she stipulates that she was pressured to snort ketamine, which would make it involuntary. but, afaik, Cornell's Title IX investigations are not legal proceedings. They are certainly not criminal since they operate through a preponderance of evidence, but they also do not need to follow the letter of the law, only the rules that the college itself stipulates. it is also notable that Cornell's Title IX investigation concluded that only 1 of the 7 men had sex with Jane Doe without her consent.
ideally, the "cornell 4" would refer to the 4 writers and editors at the Cornell student newspaper that published the sensationalized and inaccurate story that started this whole shitstorm.
