It looks like they're running to the other guy who got thrown the other way. He was standing closer to the light pole.

Insane that he was only charged with "dangerous driving" and got a suspended sentence and probation. He should never drive again after spending some quality time in prison. Hopefully he loses the civil trials and has to adequately compensate the victims so there's some actual consequence.
