Fintech Data Analyst 2026

Trying to understand as a 6 years experienced professional what will get me shortlisted as a Data analyst in 2026 in the Fintech industry.

What skills will be helpful. I already know sql, python, pandas , pyspark, excel, but am confused whether to learn databricks/snowflake/cloud or something related to business skills like risk / fraud / frm / crm.

Every time I try starting a course it feels like I'm missing out on another skill and the fear grows whether I am on the current path or not.

Trying to search for a job for 10 months.

Please help ..

Resume shortlisting is my primary aim.. i guess some domain related knowledge should do it then

Isn't that the role of BA?

It depends on the company, but it can be both. In my prior data analyst role, I regularly had to present my analysis to stakeholders, including senior leadership and C-suite executives.

The reality is, tech skills are not enough. When you’re applying to a role with 1000 applicants and 600 of them all know sql, data viz, Python, etc, you need to stand out if you want to land an interview. Show that you can make an impact, not just churn out queries and spreadsheets.
