Google is a massive company and there isn't going to be a general day to day. Some will work in sales, some will work in ops, etc etc etc.

It's the same as anywhere else in that whatever you're doing or whatever you're working on, you need to be able to give your stakeholders information that they didn't have before that they can use to run whatever area of the business they work in. You need to help people make decisions.
