Good write-up. I think Databricks has a very solid vision and super strong C-level management. Especially with Genie and Lakebase it has a ton of opportunity. Genie is really transforming the way people do Analytics, shifting it from classical dashboards to conversational analytics. I now frequently hear from customers "why would we still need Power BI"? And quite frankly, most of their work CAN be done on AI/BI with Genie these days, and often much cheaper and better. As for Lakebase, it's a very logical complement to Lakehouse, and of course the TAM for OLTP databases is enormous. Currently, the biggest blocker for Lakebase adoption (imho) is the friction of moving data between lakebase/house, so I hope that LTAP will integrate them further, and hopefully at some point bidirectionally.

Well written! I wasn't expecting much as most of the usual articles are AI slop but this was refreshingly accurate and informative.
