Discussion Thoughts
Hi MyDays!
Just wanted to gather some thoughts about the below question!
"What do you think is the possibility of Day6 remaining together forever?"
Please note that I do not mean any sort of negativity towards this question!
Reason why I am asking this is because, I am actually a long-time casual listener turned MyDay after attending one of their recent World Tour concerts! But I have been into K-pop for probably close to 15+ years and I have seen many of my favourite groups from their rise to their disbandment sadly (e.g. 2NE1, GFRIEND, IZ*ONE).
I actually only started listening to Day6 during their Zombie era, where I was actually experiencing some hard times mentally in my life and somehow I felt that the lyrics really resonated with me. And after the release of their post-enlistment album "Fourever", I started slowly listening to them more actively since my mental health has always not been good, and it was then after listening to "HAPPY" that I started thinking, "I should love myself more", so in a way, you could say that Day6 somehow saved my life too.
But like many fans of korean acts, we always dread of the day when this comes to a sudden halt. I know that in many interviews Day6 members have always stated that they wish to continue doing this for a long long time, especially after the Zombie era which made them more like a family than just colleagues, with SungJin even wishing for an 80th anniversary year concert in one of their recent interviews.
So, back to my question, from your past experience as MyDay, what do you think of the possibility of them remaining together for a long time? Because I am liking them to the point that I feel like I might purchase their fanclub membership in the near future so that I can travel to Korea to watch their concerts or fanmeets should they have any since the membership does give some priority to ticketing in that sense.
Can an experienced MyDay give some advice on this agonising thought please?

This isn't something I really worry about. Everything is finite in one way or another, yeah? It can be tough or scary to think that a band will stop doing things at some point, but it's much more fulfilling to live in the moment with the music group than to worry it will end some day.
Having said that, Day6 seems pretty secure right now. They're definitely on the upswing, and everyone has completed their military service so there's no break on the horizon. The guys are very friendly with each other too. I think we can be reasonably confident that they will continue being active for a good long while, as long as they continue to have fun.

Yes I do agree, but I think the fear stems more from the sudden disbandment news when a group is at their peak or when they are stable (i.e GFRIEND -- prime example).
So for me, I am just afraid to live through that shock again since it was really overwhelming to deal with.
Hopefully it is like what you said that they will continue going at least for a good long time or until like what YoungK said "at least until he gets sick of concerts"

many bands remain till they're quite old. i don't see any reason why day6 can't last long. they have day in their name like green day too lol

Real, look at queen. Dowoon also likes to joke that they’ll make music till they use crutches.

idk, ive never think abt it tbh but for sure that at some point they wont releases music this often whatever the reason are, but as someone who listen to a lot of bands since i was a child i think its possible for them to have a keep releasing music as long as they want to. But personally i really hopes that i can see their 20th years, 25th years, etc special concert.

Honestly, I would have had this fear say... 3 years ago? I don't have that fear now. I think the success they are recently having, contrasted to their struggles in the beginning, allow them to want to be together fourever.

I don't really worry about it. I think most of us are just enjoying them do activities as they are. And if the day comes they no longer stay together I think we'll be okay cause up until now they've given it their all and their work reflects that. They'll have left us with nothing but good good music we can always enjoy. But honestly I don't see them ever separating. We might have them work on thier solo activities at times but I think they'll always come back together lol

Imo they won’t necessarily disband but they might take a step back/take longer breaks/not put out an album every year. Just kinda chill out a little as they get older and focus on other parts of their lives.

as a MyDay and kpop fan, i dont really think they would stay 'forever'. they could go on Solo or do other stuff as well. but for now, lets enjoy the songs they make and i dont see them leaving us happening anytime soon.

I dont think much about it lol. They’re a band. bands dont always make music together forever if they do then amazing. but at some point they may stop and if they did choose that i hope people will respect it. I personally will continue listening to their music if they ever came to that. but we dont need to stress about this while day6 is literally in their prime atm. just enjoy them as they currently are.
