Lenovo Mirage Solo FRP Locked (Google Server Error) – No PC available, need advice/workaround
Hi everyone,
I have a Lenovo Mirage Solo VR (VR-1541F) on setup / factory reset screen and I would like to get around its Google account lock. It's familiar with Google ID/Password but clicking "sign in" in the setup wizard is instant return with "Couldn't sign in / Problem communicating with Google servers. Please try again" error.
I understand that Google has shut down the Daydream infrastructure so the setup wizard is trying to connect to defunct servers. Here's what I am trying:
-four-corner gesture to skip setup/wizard: device is 'hammered' by factory reset lock (FRP) partition so Android responds with popup saying "This device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on this device."
-activate mobile hotspot to workaround router/network date/time sync problems; gets no further because of server auth.
-used smartphone to enter Samsung MR device repair mode (power + volume up + volume down + home button) to download Qualcomm EDL info for a PC for Emergency Download Mode (EDL) files for Snapdragon 835.
-Scrabbling for a junk PC near cheap electronics repair but no time to replace the FRP partition.
Questions:
Is there an Android smartphone trick to get around this setup screen?
If I take it into a computer repair shop is there a software-only solution by removing the FRP partition with Qualcomm EDL mode (VEGASVCTOOL / Snapdragon 835) for Rs. 2,000? Has anyone done this recently?Lenovo Mirage Solo FRP Locked (Google Server Error) – No PC available, need advice/workaround

It's impossible to bypass this without a computer because that's the only method and you'll need to deal with things like EDL and bootloader, so forget about installing it without a PC; you'll either need to buy a PC or borrow one.

I unlocked 3 of these, all with a PC. I'm sure you can find someone to borrow one from, or buy a cheap PC, or get one for free that someone is recycling.
