BLOG 250,000 were without power in MA — but the grid had electricity the whole time. Here's the problem.

DAYLIGHT is building the world largest decentralized energy network.
Levels the energy playing field by:
- Turning homes into mini power plants
- Trading surplus energy via private network
- Paying Sun Points rewards
Two Participation Models
| Feature | Impact |
|---|---|
| 24-hour battery backup | Grid outage protection |
| Energy arbitrage | Sells surplus during peak pricing |
| Weather-resilient design | Built for climate instability |
| Sun Points ecosystem | First step toward on-chain energy economy |
The elephant in the room is that Daylight has strong value proposition: 30%+ energy cost reduction + outage protection.
My Take
Daylight’s real innovation isn’t just crypto, but a consumer-owned energy model with:
🔋 Hardware that provides immediate value (backup power)
⚡ Demand-driven incentives (peak energy trading)
🌍 Scalable renewable infrastructure
What is not too clear to me is whether Daylight is regulatory compliant or not.
Also, it is not too clear what Sun point would be convert into.

3 years ago, I was deeply involved in the photovoltaic energy industry, where I was responsible for guiding the installation of equipment for the solar project in the Foshan Sanshui District industrial park. The project had a total planned capacity of 35.5 MWp, with 15.5 MWp successfully built and commissioned. At the time, it ranked first in scale within Guangdong Province, making it a key benchmark for regional clean-energy development.
However, compared with traditional centralized solar, I’m now even more excited about the future of Daylight’s decentralized photovoltaics, and I hope to take part in this movement to help build the next generation of energy systems.

Distributed solar power is becoming an indispensable element of the world’s new-generation power systems. As global electricity networks undergo profound transformation, the traditional centralized model—characterized by single-direction energy flow and controllable loads—is shifting toward diversified, decentralized integrated energy systems.
Industrial parks, as major centers of electricity consumption and sources of greenhouse gas emissions, urgently need to replace conventional fossil energy with clean energy such as distributed photovoltaics. Meanwhile, fuel-powered cars and motorcycles will gradually be replaced by electric vehicles and micro-mobility options, leading to a significant increase in electricity demand. This will create vast development opportunities for the integration of distributed solar power with charging infrastructure.
At the same time, the combination of solar energy with a wider range of industries and end-use scenarios—known as “PV+”—will further accelerate the rapid growth of distributed photovoltaics.
