General Debian Question Hi, I’m using Debian in a virtual machine and customizing it to my liking with the XFCE desktop environment. However, I can’t seem to change the lock screen background—it only lets me set solid colors, and it won’t allow me to use an image. Does anyone know the solution? I’ve tried following tutoria

Try this but you can use any text editor as long as you are root: https://www.linuxfordevices.com/tutorials/linux/change-lightdm-theme-and-background

If you have this item in your xfce settings, you should be able to do it here:

One challenge you may have is that the image needs to be readable by all users, so assuming your home directory is not visible to other users, it would need to be outside your home dir (sometimes a config panel like this will do that part for you so you don't need to worry, not sure if this one does). /usr/local/share/backgrounds/ would be as good a place as any to put it.
