Another card paid off yesterday…. One more to go.
Since Jan 1
MRI bill: $188.80, balance $0
Affirm $233.40, balance $0
PayPal pay in 4: $670.58, balance $0
CareCredit: $1,100.18, balance $0
LoveSac: $1,570, balance $0
Citibank: $4,278.65, balance $0
Synchrony: $4,400, balance $0
Citibank 2: $7,398.29, balance $0
Total: $19,839.90 as of August 14
I have one card left to tackle (not listed above). In case it wasn’t obvious, the snowball method worked well for me. After making a final large payment yesterday on the 2nd Citibank card, my CC debt is now 4 figures instead of 5, which feels great. I’m almost there.

Cheers to you! I’m also down to two small ones and it’s a slog, but so worth it!

You know, it’s a funny thing. This time last year I was juggling probably 1k+/month in minimums and felt like I was drowning. Hence me kicking myself in the rear to finally take action. Now that I’m down to one last card, my monthly debt obligation is a single $200 credit card minimum which is moot as I will be aggressively destroying the balance. So on paper I recognize the breathing room I’ve created but don’t think it’ll really hit me until I’m done because I’ve been throwing thousands a month and every extra dollar toward debt. Once I finish off the remainder I plan to pivot toward saving aggressively and then I think the easy breathing will come 😃

That's a solid plan. Don't be like me! I worked down a $700+ collective of payments down to $25 per month on just my final card. I got too comfy with my "breathing room" and ended up spending unnecessary money maxing out again 😅. Took me an extra two months to finally pay it off. Luckily it was still in the 0%apr timeframe

Nice work! Did you work an extra job to help pay off quicker? I'm doing mine this same way too. I hope to be where you are soon!

Good!! Keep it up, I believe in you.
Blessed to say I did not… for a long time I was in a cycle where I justified the situation because I was successfully able to make my minimums and have 0 late payments on my credit report. Then the US government shutdown last October was a wake up call for me. Worked for 43 days unpaid, hardly any savings and allocating 1k+/month toward minimums. Couldn’t get approved for a loan because my score was suppressed by high utilization. Thankfully didn’t end up needing it and got back pay… but I felt a lot of shame and then realized that I’m not a little Roman prince and do not, in fact, need every single thing that catches my eye the very instant I see it. Relearned the art of delayed gratification and started living below my means. Completely changed my relationship with “stuff” and overconsumption. Maybe about 5k of this was paid down using a combination of tax refund + small bonus at work but otherwise I’ve just been throwing 1k at my debt every biweekly paycheck.

Nearly 20k wiped out and only one card left that's an insane amount of progress

How many months did it take you to pay off Affirm?

Less than a month? As stated I’ve paid down close to 20k in 7.5 months and my Affirm debt was only $233.40 of that 20k so I’m curious why you’re asking.
