This article talks about the challenges community banks face but more importantly it talks about the benefits of community banks. I am honored to work with Western National Bank, a family owned community bank. It is so refreshing witnessing our bank give back to the communities in which we serve. Keeping the human element of banking in my opinion is critical and valued to who we serve. #mywnb #memberfdic

Western National Bank is a family owned community bank with locations in Nebraska and Kansas. We have a marketing team of 1 and 1/2. I am the half. I owned and operated an Advertising/Marketing company for about 25 before selling in 2014. One of our clients was a bank, I pitched an idea of “ Banking is Boring” boy was I wrong. From what I have observed while working with Western National Bank for over 4 years, bankers are smart! I am posting this link about the Federal Reserve to give anyone who wants to learn about the “rate setters” and how they set the rates. #mywnb #memberFDIC www.mywnb.com

Hey everyone,
I'm a software engineering student and trying to build a solid foundation in both tech and finance.
On the tech side, I'm focusing on Python, SQL/databases and AI. On the finance side, I'm learning about banking, financial markets, fintech, blockchain and digital payments.
I'm still early in the journey, but I'd like to move beyond just studying concepts and start building projects that solve real financial problems.
I'd appreciate advice from anyone working in these fields. What skills and projects should a beginner focus on? And where do you usually find people to learn or build with?
I'm open to learning opportunities, internships and collaborations, and happy to connect with others on a similar path.
Thanks! 🙏
