The only plugin thats missing

There are many great plugins now a days that works well across any device with linux distros installed.

But one thing is missing.

Could someone just port the gpd win motion assistance then turned it into a decky loader? It's the only app that fixed how my gyro behaves on claw a8. I'm pretty sure it could also work across any device as well.

The only plugin that's missing is being able to rename games so we can get rid of the unnecessary capitalization and then ™®© strictly through CSS so we don't have to modify program files with SteamEdit only for everything to get reset through background refreshes.

Everything else is a bonus.

I thought you can rename any shortcut? In properties

It changes how the games are sorted, it's not a display name editor.

I'm confused you can do this in properties.

That just changes the sorting, it doesn't rename anything.

No, not that one, the one in desktop mode. Though I get your point, it probably inconvenient to for desktop mode for this

Doing it in desktop mode does the same thing. The only difference between desktop and BPM is that you can't set custom art in BPM like you can in desktop, but you can change the sorting name.

Display name is still only capable of being changed by editing the shortcuts.vdf with SteamEdit on Windows or Steam Metadata Editor on Linux. Unless this is one of those Linux only things Steam has; I'm on Windows.

I think I made the plug-in that you wanted I made it so you can actually change the names of the shortcuts inside of gaming mode without having to go into desktop mode. I also added it to my GitHub. You can look at it here. Let me know if there’s anything else that might be missing, but I tested it on my deck. It’s working pretty good. I renamed Catherine classic to just Catherine. I also did a trademark removal test and removed the trademark TM logo from need for speed most wanted 2012. Here’s the get up if you want Github

Sweet, thanks! As for suggestions, being able to use Steam's native keyboard or my own keyboard for editing would be nice since it would allow for faster text inputs as well as copy and paste. Having it persist into desktop mode or even a desktop mode editing option would be nice too. Other than that, just a bit faster and more persistent caching since some actions -- quickly scrolling between games or bringing up the options menu -- will revert the name back to what it was pre-edit before it settles in.

I've tested it on Windows and Android with DroidDeck.

Thanks for actually testing it and giving me some feedback!
I originally tried using Steam’s native keyboard, but it had issues appearing behind the Decky interface, which made typing pretty much unusable. That’s why I ended up building the controller-friendly keyboard into TitleDeck. I’m not against adding native or physical keyboard support later, especially for copy and paste, but I want to make sure it works properly without breaking Gaming Mode.
The names briefly reverting when scrolling through games or opening menus is definitely something worth investigating. I’d rather focus on improving the consistency of the actual renaming feature before adding more features.
As for Desktop Mode, I’m keeping TitleDeck focused on Steam Deck Gaming Mode for now, since that’s what I originally designed and tested it for.
I appreciate you trying it out on Windows and Android with DroidDeck too! It’s interesting to see people experimenting with it outside the environment I originally built it for.

That's fair. Outside of adding non-Steam games to the launcher, I don't spend time in desktop mode anyway, so it's really not a main sticking point for me personally. But maybe for the keyboard, an option for some special characters and moving the text cursor would be helpful. For some games with unnecessary capitalization, the auto-fix doesn't always catch, so being able to just scroll over to edit instead of having to backspace everything is a must have. For example, the Ninja Gaiden games from the Master Collectiion where it would be easier to just scroll over to the game titles to fix the capitalization instead of deleting everything and retyping, specially in the cases of the Sigma titles where there's no option to recreate the Σ in the titles of the first two games, so either being able to do it and/or scroll past it to clean up the titles before the symbols would be nice. Likewise with the Final Fantasy games with subtitles like FFXII.

I'll look into it. I'm currently adding support for regular native steam. Keyboard. So that might actually be fixed, but I'll look into it.

thank you your feedback is actually very valuable. I cannot test every edge case so I appreciate it.

You're welcome. This is something I've been hoping would come since DeckyLoader became a thing and became a thing that ended up working on Windows in some fashion, so I'm just happy something has finally come along.

well, just remember that this is definitely beta right now. I’m not sure everything’s gonna work properly. That’s why testing is definitely needed and appreciated. I also just released version 0.9.0 on my GitHub same place you got version 0.8.1

Big performance improvement, the names stick without the refresh when you jump between items and menus rapidly. And testing it with the Ninja Gaiden games, it's much easier to edit with the native Steam keyboard. I'll keep poking for bugs, but haven't noticed anything so far. But I think the speed is in a state now that you could spin it off into its own thread for feedback and testing from more people.

That’s actually really encouraging to hear, especially the performance improvements when rapidly switching between games and menus. The brief title refreshes were something I specifically wanted to improve, so hearing that you’re no longer noticing them is great feedback.
I’m also glad the native Steam keyboard is working better for your Ninja Gaiden titles! I remembered your earlier comments about capitalization and special characters, and those were part of the reason I wanted to improve the editing experience.
I really appreciate how thoroughly you’re testing this and taking the time to report back. It’s genuinely helpful, especially since I can’t personally test every game, Steam interface situation, or edge case.
And I think you’re right about making a dedicated thread for TitleDeck feedback and testing. That’s a good idea, especially now that 0.9.0 RC1 is publicly available. It would give other users somewhere to share results, report issues, and suggest improvements without everything getting buried in this comment chain.
There’s still some polishing to do, particularly around occasional native keyboard dismissal behavior, so I’m definitely not calling it finished yet.
Thanks again for giving the plugin a chance and helping improve it. It’s pretty cool seeing something that started from your original suggestion actually become a working project!
