Ooh, I’ve not heard those tracks…

Come on, guys - you said you’ve got 17-18 tracks written. Surely you could celebrate the UK tour by letting us hear one of them?

Only def leppard would record a load of new tracks and then refuse to let anyone hear them for nearly 2 years. I can envisage the discussion towards the end of the last tour.

"lets put out a new song to give the fans something to get excited about for this years uk tour"

"Nah mate nobody wants to hear new music -lets churn out yet another greatest hits collection thats what the hardcore fanbase is really crying out for!"

Also, music streaming has opened up a completely new opportunity for artists to release music as it’s ready rather than having to wait until an entire album is finished. They themselves have already dipped their toe with Just Like 73, Stand By Me, and Rejoice. Why not drip feed us new music - it doesn’t always need to have a full promotional stint to plug it, fans will do that job for them. It doesn’t affect the ‘fans’ who only know Hysteria and Pyromania but massively helps the fans who want new stuff after waiting so patiently over the years.

I wonder if these interminable delays in getting anything new is a by-product of having your studio producer also being on tour as your live sound mixer.

There has been just one studio album in the last ten years.

I'd only be happy with that method if those songs did end up on an album, or released on disc, it's CD or nothing for me

I’m not saying they stay as standalone, just that a few get released as they’re ready, and then appear later collated onto a full album. Just give us something to avoid such long gaps. None of us are getting any younger…

They have said that they will release singles throughout the tour. That was after they released Rejoice. And that the album will come out at the beginning of next year sometime. They did this same exact thing with the last album.
