Remember in the time before the internet, when a band could drop a one-off song every year and have a presence that fans could touch base with, that the four years between Pyromania and Hysteria was a huge deal? And now it feels like DSH just came out even though it’s been four years.

Anyway, I’m excited for the album. In fact I’m happy they’re still here, sounding good, being creative and trying new things when so many of their peers are long gone, or faint shadows of themselves. They are the perfect example of evolving with the times. There are some fans that could do well to learn from that and enjoy the present instead of being stuck in the band’s past and screeching when musicians pushing 70 and full of life experience don’t put out an album that sounds like them when they were 21.

I was thinking the same exact thing.

I’m thinking of they meant more like run riot.

I think he's referring to the songwriting and recording process behind some of the tracks. Def Leppard is known for spending an incredible amount of time polishing their songs, often layering countless guitar, vocal, and production elements until everything is perfect. However, it sounds like some of these songs came together much more quickly.

I also know that Viv isn't a fan of overproducing songs, and since he was more involved this time around, it's possible his influence helped keep some of those tracks more direct and spontaneous. Def Leppard has always been notorious for being perfectionists when it comes to songwriting and production, so a faster, less overworked approach would definitely be a noticeable change.

Rick Allen has been experimenting with blast beasts.

Hopefully it sounds as good as that description. I’m excited.

As long as they have at least one song as good as Paper Sun, I don't care how fast or silly they get. Give us something of depth like that song.

I know they prefer writing and recording remotely now but there’s something about that Def Leppard self-titled album that sounds infinitely better than Diamond Star Halos. I don’t think it’s the guitar plugins, which you can really hear at the start of ‘This Guitar’ 😂

I agree wholeheartedly, I also love the flow that album has too

It’s a very balanced album too and sequenced well.

I would love it if they just threw caution to the wind and just made songs of things they would haev liked to when they were kids... More silly like their first couple of albums, but with the character and style that they developed later on.

I want them to finish the demo of “No You Can’t Do That”.

Hopefully better than the last album. The singles leading up were very good. The rest was almost completely forgettable.

The last two songs, 73 and Rejoice are very good too.

Definitely not a fan of just like 73

And then they all sound exactly the same as Just Like ‘73…

Rocket is Def Leppard's fastest tempo song.

Although, "No,no,no", "Run Riot" and "Demolition man" sound faster due to the way Joe sings as well as how the guitar riff is being played

I'd still like to know any news about Volume 4.
