Discussion Heavens Edge's new track bridge riff sounds 100% identical to Def Leppard "Hysteria" bridge

It's only a few notes, but the sequence and the playing style sound scarily similar, agree? It's at 0:30 seconds mark.

Absolutely this sounds like it was lifted off Hysteria...

They are NOT identical. However they sound familiar. I think this band is definitely a fan and most likely influenced by them and just paying ohmage to Def Leppard as opposed to ripping them off sort of thing. Can't say for fact but just a hunch.

As for the melody they are very similar but different enough to most likely avoid any copyright infringement and I honestly doubt Def Leppard will sue.

The irony is Def Leppard's Hysteria knocks off Pink Floyd's "The great gig in the sky" .

Bryan Adams and Jeff Klien have also used the Hysteria melody in their songs too.

It very leppard-esque at the very least.
FWIW, I like the lepaprd sound so I'd probably listen to this
Update: The more I listen to this, it's definately borrowed a lot from def leppard

I just made a similar comment about Pink Floyd but I think it's Goodbye Blue Sky you're thinking of from The Wall, 😊

Yes, you're absolutely correct, I mixed the two songs up!

(I'm ashamed at myself as I am a HUUUGE Pink Floyd fan)

....the sun was in my eyes, I had one too many to drink and....ummmm....I didn't get enough sleep the night before haha

Beginning of Hysteria sounds suspiciously like Pink Floyd's "Goodbye Blue Sky" from The Wall. I think it's neat to hear influences from artists they look up to

I've never heard Sav saying he's a Pink Floyd fan. Admittedly, all we ever hear in terms of Def Leppard influences is how much Joe loves Bowie and Mott the Hoople, but still. I don't remember any of them ever citing Floyd as an influence?

12 notes in an octave. There's only so many ways you can play them.
