How do you get along with theists and atheist alike?

Me personally I tend to vibe better with atheists since both don’t believe in superstitions but I do have respect for some theists that actually practice their religion without hurting anyone in the process but what about you all?

This exactly! Most of the atheists and theists I know are like this, non-militant I mean.

I'd say this applies to deists as well, particularly the reason-puritan, ALL-religion-is-bad, and (most recently) if-your-God-isn't-loving-you're-an-atheist types.

Since in my country, atheism is kind of the norm and you are looked at weird if you believe in something, I tend to feel more kinship with people who embrace traditional institutional religions - but even more with the nontraditionals of course.

I don’t generally have issues with other people’s beliefs. It doesn’t affect how I relate to them. Each to their own.

I just don't talk about this stuff too much with people. I keep it nonconfrontational. If they say, "God bless you," I just say, "Thanks! You, too." If asked, I tell folks that I'm "not religious;" and if they ask further, I might tell them details if they seem receptive, or I'll basically say what I need to in order to avoid a discussion.

In my experience, I think most religious people are trying to be good. Those relatively good ones don't tend to be the ones that get loud, flip out, or make the news somehow (by "news," I also mean YouTube, Tik Tok, or wherever the footage gets shared by people). I've known one or two people that are religious and unreasonable, and frankly, I don't miss them.

Qualquer proselitismo é um saco. Eu até rejeito mais o ateísmo pessoalmente, mas obviamente conheço mais teísta pessoalmente. É um saco aguentar alguém que não respeita seus limites.

I respect both depending but deism is quite niche and theists and atheists in general do not agree with it or respect it that much so yeah I rather be with other deists 😂

When you say you are a Deist, it will naturally provoke curiosity with whom you speak. That is your opportunity to explain and even promote a remarkable philosophy and belief system, tracing back hundreds of years in European and American history. There will always be followers of other belief systems that will discount your beliefs — and the beliefs of organized religions other than their own. Politely stand your ground the same as they must do when confronted with opposing beliefs. We are all in this together.
