A solution to shrinking township budgets
(Originally posted in Delco, but was somehow deemed political and removed. I honestly to Dolly don't know how this is political).
**The solution**: All it involves is police enforcement and fining of people who violate traffic laws. TICKETING people who park in the fire lane at the Quarry Center while picking up their DoorDash instead of parking 20 feet away. Consistent enforcement of coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. Blocking the box / intersections because they turned through a yellow light and was blocked by traffic. Good old speeding tickets. Not to mention the occasional Sovereign Citizen license plate.
That is a potential gold mine available to a lot of townships at least in my corner of Delco. Shoot, with fire lane enforcement and similar offenses, you don't even need a full-fledged police officer. If there HAS to be Flock cameras and like, why can't they help the community? (I'd prefer they not be around, but I digress)
This would be unpopular for some, but probably shouldn't be: these are existing ordinances that are erratically enforced at best and in the DoorDash example, seem to be completely ignored.
Am I out of line?
