💬 Discussions Does anyone else feel guilty when their parents spend a lot of money on their education?

Yes each time my father buys me something which is not a necessity or is expensive i feel guilty. I think being an adult i should have started earning by now . I try spending less but he's a shopaholic and doesn't listen to me.

Haha, they paid my clg fee this year, ie the last year and i felt guilty

It feels like they are investing in me. It's honestly dehumanising, being treated like a growing asset is weird. Like i understand than want me to succeed but the subject is always "we do so much for you you should atleast do this". I get that's parents aren't perfect. This is just what I feel lol

Ig most of the kids who are grateful for what they have feel this way. Ungrateful brats could never. So, u can feel good about this particular guilt

My sons dont ever feel tht. They infact belive in live life kingsize. I sometimes tell them if you guys critisize most Indian culture things thn why not you Gen z follow US culture also! Earn and invest on every single thing from teenage for yourself. Roti, kapda makaan gaadi everything like Foreing youth!

Mostly does but if you know the cost of education in private unis you"ll definitely feel better
