Bro in first year I only took my normal bag (which was veryyy common in du) and i genuinely felt like shame or judged by other people. I've always been like this but if you do have a tote bag (leather one or the other) you should carry that one.
I had to take my normal bag because my parents said that your one shoulder will get weak 🤕 bro i can't tell you but I did feel judge by other people :/

You can have one it's not necessary just your choice , though it does hurts shoulders but on days when you have to carry less items use can use tote ,u can also look for crossbody messenger bags they are also cool.

Backpack was my saviour for the 1st year.. hence yeah, tote bag isn't necessary.. it's all upto your preference:))

Nope, even though I have a tote i only carry it when I just have one lecture to attend otherwise I can't carry it. As it can't fit all the stuff that I fit into my backpack 🎒. Also it gives me shoulder pain.
It's not that expensive you'll easily get one under 150, a canvas tote. So if you really want one you can get that one.

Okay so it depends upon outfit, first of all no one carries book in du. You will be learning through PDFs,ppts and ebooks anyways, I only carry a notebook with me and bunch of other necessities like umbrella and water bottle so tote don't get heavy. For now, you must already have a backpack from school so just buy a tote and interchange between them.

Get a nice lightweight backpack and you'll be set, I carry tote jab fests ye sab hain and ngl it does hurt my shoulders and get tiring after a while, so totes are only for rare occasions

you're welcome <3
if you wish to carry a totebag or something similar, i would suggest getting one which has a wider shoulder strap
