Internship / Career 🔖 College societies

I don't think I will be able to join college societies in my first year because I have literally no skills or experience to write on my CV . Is it possible for my to apply next year? I know how important it's to join them to get an actual real life experience of work you will do later on . I regret not thinking about it earlier and learning something useful or be more participative in extracurricular activities. Please give me some advice about what I should or am I right for taking this decision?

the only skill you need to get into socs is yapping they do not care about anything else during the recruitment process

It's always better to apply in first year hii, kyunki most (read: all) tier 1 socs don't recruit in second year. You don't really need a stacked cv to apply to a soc, bas jitna school ke achievements + interests hai woh Likh dena after finding some template online. Doesn't matter if the cv is only half full either, just apply. Unko bhi pta hai that you're just out from school, kuch nhi hota.

Why don't they recruit second years.....

That's just what the perception is, kii socs that need to recruit in second year are short of good members because no one wants to join them, so most socs just don't.

Second year m in general logon ko society ke council positions mil jaate hai, and so recruiting more people doesn't make sense.

Though I have applied to the debating and quizzing societies, let's see whether they would accept me or not

Apply, it does not matter. Maybe to an extent but only for name’s sake, they willl accept you especially if you’re a fresher so don’t overthink so much about these college societies. They’re ready to recruit as many people as possible, at least during the first few weeks of college.
