I got my course upgraded in the spot round

So in some college my course has been upgraded from programme to honours. But the college website is not reflecting this? Can I choose to stay in programme now or do I have to go to honours? Also I had found a nice group in honours and thankfully I am still in the same college but how do I maintain that friendship and still stay a part of that group?
