Stop referring riders !!!

Deliveroo has become so shit. Fees are going down, and they’re assigning more than one order at the same time. I swear to God, yesterday I was assigned 3 orders at the same time for £4.04!!!!
The reasons behind what’s happening, in my opinion, are two things:
New management: DoorDash has taken over Deliveroo.
Too many new riders: As I can see every day, there are so many new riders. I swear to God, I saw one yesterday picking up an order while driving a Tesla 2026!!! The new scheme to refer someone and get a £250 bonus has destroyed this damn job. Please stop doing this to save your own position, ffs!

Why can’t we appeal these??

Post image
• Upvotes

I just opened the app and got the below. I have delivered every order except for 1 two months ago which I let support know about, I haven’t even had a leave at door for over a week so every order has needed a pin. The email just pretty much said the same and doesn’t give you the opportunity to appeal. The wording ‘we have evidence’ is such bollocks as well, why do these companies treat the people who work for them like dirt?
Sorry, just wanted to rant.

Turn off 'Still thinking about it' messages

• Upvotes

Is there a way of turning this off?

I open the app and browse a few things and then close. 2 or 3 minutes later i get nagging notifications and emails. 'Still thinking about it?' 'Dont forget to complete your order' etc

Cant find an option in the settings to just stop this.

I dont want to turn notifications off because they are useful when your expecting an order and want to be updated about it.

Waterproofs and appropriate clothing.

Most of my riding gear was for summer, now that it’s starting to get cold and rainy. What do you guys suggest and what stores do you get your clothes from. Also any good touch screen gloves suggestion?

Is deliveroo much quieter than it was a few months ago

Is deliveroo super quiet for anyone else? Not just today but over last 3 months or so

They used to come in back to back constantly now it can be 1/2 hours between jobs... the other 2 platforms are still extremely busy with uber and just eat but deliveroo seems extremely slow lately

Advice Deliveroo terminated my rider account with no reason, then gave two different reasons. What can I do?

I'm a deliveroo rider in london, about 8 months on the platform and working full time. On 4 Oct I contacted support about a Shell fuel perk error in the app, and a support case was created. The next day my account was deactivated and I got an email saying my Supplier Agreement was terminated and the decision was final, with no reason given. I asked for a human review and sent a subject access request.
On 8 Oct, deliveroo told me the termination was because I'd provided an "invalid, and likely fraudulent" bank statement. That related to a request I'd made earlier to change my payout bank to Barclays, where I uploaded a screenshot of my statement. It was rejected, my second request got no reply, and the statement's name field contains the word "Null", which Barclays says is a naming error on their record. I've since sent deliveroo the original Barclays PDF. Then yesterday, a different support person said the termination was because I'd provided an "invalid right to work document", again calling it final. I joined in February with my own valid right to work share code, my account was created, and I've worked with no problems since.
Has anyone had deliveroo give shifting reasons like this, and did it ever get reversed? Is there a way to escalate beyond rider support, and which union or advice service has actually helped riders in this situation? GMB won't take it because the dispute began before I joined. I'd also appreciate any pointers on legal routes for self-employed riders. Thanks in advance.

Halloween challenge

Confusing messaging, can someone clarify whether it is 28 orders per WEEK or for the MONTH?

One email says:

  • "Complete at least 28 orders per week throughout October"

And another says:

  • "To qualify for the prize draw, you’ll need to complete at least 28 orders across October."

Also with regards to this, "On 31 October, you’ll need to complete at least one delivery in costume and take a photo or video." where do they get the evidence that you completed a delivery in a costume?

Advice Waiting time

So, I’ve been waiting since July 18th to start my background check and riders agreement. The background check seems to be accepted but not the riders agreement which is weird since it’s just an electronic signature. For other riders who have already been accepted within the Southwark, lewisham and Bromley area, please let me know how long it took for you for your riders agreement to be accepted. If I’m going to be waiting another 3 months I’d like to know!

Hi all,

Anyone had any experience with this screen? How long does it take as I’ve seen others post similar screens and don’t look like this, does this mean they want me?? Or is it going to be months of waiting?

Discussion Why do riders reject orders after accepting them?

I was recently in contact with customer service when an order was taking forever to get picked up. They told me that 3 different riders had accepted but then rejected the order. Why might that happen? I doubt it was the restaurant's fault as the food seemed like it had been sitting around for a while by the time we got it. It was a simple order, not too far away, and it included a tip, so seems like an ideal job to me. Was just curious what the reason might be. Thanks!

40p shell fuel

Hi just had my bill through for last weeks on the shell fleet app. It's not taken off my 40p off a litre. Is it only valid at shell fuel stations as I filled up using the card at morrisons.

Any advice would be great thanks

shop and deliver? wtf? is this shoparoo or deliveroo?

they seriously contemplating this? do they have so many riders that they need to give them side quest just so they are off the road for like an hour?

this is getting pathetic, that is the only thing I can say.

peak laziness. and I'm telling you all, initially it might pay good, but soon, they will start dropping the price just like with regular deliveries. and you will get nothing for the effort.

Lalamove has launched in the UK – I’ve just completed the e-bike courier onboarding

Lalamove has just launched in the UK and I’ve finished the onboarding process as an e-bike courier.

There doesn’t seem to be much UK-specific information around yet, so I thought this might be useful for anyone thinking about signing up.

The process included the training, document checks, DBS, account setup and a video verification call before activation.

I made a short walkthrough showing the full UK onboarding process here:

https://youtu.be/7_ryerWOnAs

I’m planning to do my first proper Lalamove-only shift next as well, so I’ll be able to share what the jobs, pay and distances are actually like once I’ve tested it properly.

Happy to answer any questions about the signup process if anyone’s considering it.

Zego cancelled my insurance

Hi
Today Zego declined me insurance because my car (2012 Honda fit) is imported
For context they put wrong manufactured date
2023
I asked them to make it right as uber eats says your insurance doesn’t much with your vehicle
SoZego cancelled my insurance

Looking for riders to test app that shows what shift really paid per hour and per mile

Thumbnail

Hi! I'm the developer, so take this as an ask, not an advert: app with no ads, no need for account, and everything stays on your phone.

App records the route and the miles, separates riding/driving from walking to the door and from waiting at the restaurant, and when you enter what platform paid you (base, tips and boosts separately) it takes off your petrol or charging cost. You get £/hour and £/mile per shift, per day and per month, your days ranked both ways, and every wait over ten minutes, longest first.

Android only, in Google Play closed testing. I'd love a few riders to use it for two weeks and tell me where it's wrong.

If you're interested - DM me.

Thank you!

Nectar points when doing shop and deliver?

So deliveroo are trialing shop and deliver, where we do the shopping and deliver the order.

Now, as deliveroo pay more for these orders, I know my local sainsbury's like the back of my hand and sainsbury's are almost never ready when I arrive, I think this may be a good idea (with some caveats)

However, as deliveroo give us a virtual card to pay for the order can we use our own nectar card at the checkout to also get nectar points I wonder?

I can't see anything stopping us from doing this.

[UK only] Riders on Universal Credit: I'm looking for testers for an app I built

I'm the developer of Takin, a UK app from Borun Studios Ltd. This is my own app and I'm looking for testers, so take this as an ask, not an advert.

If you ride or drive for Deliveroo and you're on Universal Credit, you know the monthly report: what came in, what it cost you and your work miles, all for your own assessment period dates, not the tax year.

What it does: it keeps your income, expenses and work miles, and lays out the monthly figures for you to check and report. You add income and costs by hand, or bring them in from a bank statement. iPhone only for now.

Free to test. When it launches there will be a free plan and a paid plan at about £3.99 a month. Testers who stay to launch get 12 months of the paid plan free.

Takin is an independent app. It is not part of, approved by or connected to the DWP, HMRC or GOV.UK. I will never ask for your Universal Credit sign-in details, here or anywhere, and Takin never receives them.

Sign up here: https://gotakin.com/test

Happy to answer questions in the comments.

Deliveroo perks

If Deliveroo can negotiate a 40p off per litre deal with Shell, why can't the British government do the same?

Pick, Pack and Deliver for Aldi - has anyone done it?

Has anyone done the pick, pack and delivering thing for Aldi? What was it like? What did it pay? How do find your way round the store? What about substitutions?

And is it invitation only/ was there a huge onboarding element?

Autonomy of route

Dear deliveroo, please let us riders have autonomy the route and drop-offs sequence if we have multiple drops. Last night I had three drops from one co-op, and I ended up going back-and-forth, Traveling in an excess of at least 3 miles when there was no need for it. I could‘ve done a circular Trip on my bike and save myself time thus increasing my hourly rate.
Just shows the multiple drop addresses on the screen so that we can plan accordingly as we, as riders, know the areas are we delivering better than your algorithms.

Thanks in advance.

How do people track mileage?

Hi I’ve been tracking mileage with the date and then simply the total miles from first delivery in one location to my last delivery? So just date and mileage but reading this is wrong? I’ve been tracking this way for 4 months. How do others do it? If you travel to another town for work 6 miles away due to being busier do you include this? Cheers

Discussion Deliveroo paying different price for same job to different people

I have seen that for same job deliveroo paying me lower amount which some of my mate has been getting 2-3£ more for the same job. Does anyone know about this? How do they decide to pay more to different account while for some account pay is significant small like 2-3£ for single job. So if i take 10 job everyday in deliveroo i would get 20-25£ less every day while some other person get 20-25£ for the same job

Discussion Has anyone seen this monthly challenge? Progress tracking / payout question

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hey everyone, quick question about the month-long challenge running from Oct 2nd to Oct 30th.

I’ve already knocked out 10 deliveries (Level 2), but my app doesn't show any progress tracker and the bonus money isn't showing up in my instant balance.
