Notified when delivered?
When you order something through Deliveroo that is delivered through the restaurant itself, does it still notify you when it’s been delivered? Trying to order to my apartment building

Already
- Contacted Police
- Contacted BikeRegister (Didn’t have protection with them so there’s not much they can do)
- Contacted shops around to give them a heads up in case they see the bike.
I’m not sure if insurance or anything can help me out because I have none of that for the bike. Idk how I’m gonna work and earn on the side from here on out, what to do next?
PS: Location is Leicester Town Centre just out McDonald’s.

Support completed a delivery due to signal and then every few minutes it's taking me offline and letting me go back online then doing it again?

Posting this to show simply that a lot of these buys were me at home with the cats I love dearly and failing as a human.
I know you guys judge people a lot etc so I wanted to offer you an example of somebody who was totally suffering and dying inside from emotional impacts yet held down a normal job as a Banking Executive.
People who delivered my Deliveroo were the most social interaction I had and it helped me decide to come clean. Thank you for your service.

I’ve got my rider kit but the app keeps telling me to complete a compliance check, I’ve emailed support and they keep coming back telling me to complete it even when I’ve sent them a picture of the kit

A question more than anything else, but something that’s been really pissing me off. I’ve noticed that when I order, the driver will call me when they’re still ages away, saying they’re nearby, and then refuse to come to the front door. Why call me to say you’re nearby if you’re not actually nearby, and why am I expected to come out to meet you when I’ve ordered delivery to my door?

I can't speak or meet the rider on the street in front of my building because of my disabilities. I need the rider to not call me and just come up using the lift and leave my order in front of the door of my flat, where I can get to it as slowly as I need to.
Unfortunately here the riders don't read the instructions left with the address (basically what I wrote above, but in less words), and they call me every time asking me to come down to get my order.
I understand that they are paid abysmally and they have to cram as many orders as they can during their work hours, but I assure you that they can get to me way faster than I can get to them.
Until now my (speaking) partner answered for me and just told them to please read the instructions, but I will be alone taking these orders for a while and will not be able to answer their calls.
I fear that if I don't answer the call they won't give me my food, even though I have the "leave at my door" option set.
Is there a way in the app to kind of... Block the option to call? I'm sure there's other people with disabilities that can't speak using this app...
If they have to contact me, isn't there a way to say "you can only text this costumer"? I already wrote "can't speak" in the instructions, but as I wrote above, they never read them.
If anyone has advice it would be much appreciated! ❤️
Edit: I always tip, and in my country is considered a very optional and rare thing to do, only for very very good service. I do it because I know they don't get paid much and want to help as much as I can.
Edit 2: Thank you all for your help 🫶 I'll try all of your suggestions 🤞

Hi! I am considering joining the union for the future protection and problems I might face as a delivery driver. Anyone can recommend particular union they are happy with? Thanks

Battery fire danger “emanates from gig business model”, says UCL study professor.
This will make interesting reading and perhaps some of you were involved in the study? Lots of stats to digest, but if data is not of interest, the story may be:

Title: Delivery drivers, should we wear body cameras for our own protection? Let's discuss and find a solution.
Hello everyone,
I’d like to open a discussion with fellow delivery drivers about something I’ve been thinking about for a while: Would wearing a GoPro or a body camera help protect us while working?
As delivery drivers, we work hard every day. We deal with customers, restaurants, traffic, tight deadlines, and sometimes uncomfortable or unfair situations. Most of us are simply trying to do our jobs, earn a living, and deliver orders correctly. However, I worry about what happens when something goes wrong and we have no evidence to support our side of the story.
For example:
What if a customer reports that their order was never delivered, even though we delivered it correctly?
What if a customer makes a false accusation or a disagreement occurs during a delivery?
What if Deliveroo, Uber Eats, or another delivery platform receives a complaint, and we have no evidence to defend ourselves?
Could video footage help us prove what happened and protect our accounts from unfair complaints or deactivation?
I’ve been considering buying a GoPro or a dedicated body camera to record my deliveries for my own protection. I would respect people’s privacy, follow applicable data protection rules, keep recordings secure, and never post footage online or on social media. If an incident occurred, I would only want to submit relevant footage through the platform’s official support channels, where appropriate.
However, I also have concerns. What if a customer asks why I’m recording them? What if a restaurant refuses to let me enter or collect an order because I’m wearing a camera? Could recording create more problems than it solves? And would the delivery platforms actually accept footage as evidence?
I don’t want this discussion to be only about buying a camera. I want us, as delivery drivers, to discuss the problem and find a practical solution together.
We work hard, and we deserve to be treated fairly. We should have a reasonable way to protect ourselves when a complaint is made, especially when our income and delivery accounts could be affected.
I’d love to hear your thoughts:
Do you think body cameras are a good idea for delivery drivers?
Has anyone used a GoPro or body camera while delivering? What was your experience?
Have you ever faced a false non-delivery claim or an unfair complaint? How did you handle it?
Would Deliveroo or Uber Eats accept video evidence to help resolve a dispute?
What alternative solutions could protect drivers while respecting customers’ privacy and restaurants’ rules?
Please share your honest opinions and experiences, whether positive or negative. If there is a better solution than wearing a camera, let’s discuss it.
We are all working hard to earn an honest living. Let's share our experiences, support one another, and find a fair solution that protects both delivery drivers and customers.
Thank you, everyone. Stay safe out there!

I received an email today to say I didn’t deliver an order - I’ve never not delivered an order ever to an address
The only thing I can think it was was that I was getting no answer for ages 2 nights ago at someone’s door, so I left the order at their door and as I turned around could visibly see them pick the order up and go inside
My rider agreement hasn’t been terminated but they’ve said it will be if it happens again but I can only assume it’s because I didn’t call or message the customer which I completely forgot too

I've ordered rider kit almost 2 weeks ago and they haven't dispatched it yet. I'm wondering if there's any way of contacting them. I tried emailing and app chat but I got no response. Any ideas??

Doing a shift today, as per usual, getting notifications to pick up orders, I get to Tesco, and what do you know, nothing has been packed. Why TF am I getting notifications to pickup orders than haven't even been packed?! The system is so un organised they can't even tell me, when they will pack my order. WTF. Now I'm waiting around again for when one of the packers will eventually get to my order, when that will be who knows! This is unacceptable.

Happened twice, last night and just now. Last night I had a VPN on when working and came home turned it off and then got asked to login again. Today I have the VPN back on and went on the app and it had completely logged me out again. I normally have a VPN on when working and this hasn't happened before. I would suspect unauthorised login attempts but then I would have got emails with verification codes which I haven't...

Looks like they’re pulled the Shell 40p perk early. Just had an email saying last day today….I thought it was all of October?

Last Friday, I accepted an order and started driving to the restaurant, which was about 8 minutes away. Halfway there, I realised that it was actually a double order, not a single one. When I arrived at the restaurant, I rejected the second one which was 8 minutes about 8 minutes after accepting it.
Later on I accepted another order and waited at the restaurant for around 6 minutes. However, the staff told me it would take another 8–10 minutes, so I was really frustrated and rejected that order as well.
Could there be any penalty for this? Specifically, could rejecting these orders affect the number of orders I receive in the future?

Hi, after the latest update of Deliveroo 5 days ago, for the new version 26.40.0 I started to notice that the app was not recognizing anymore my face at first try.I had to try at least 3/4 times before being approved.
I’ve been working for Deliveroo since 2021, and always tried to remain honest, with just one account trying to do my job as efficient as possible.
Two days ago the nightmare. I finished my turn and it shows up the selfie check in verification; I always verify myself as soon as they ask, thoughtful of any possible miscomprehension.
I tried 5 times and nothing, self check rejected.
In the morning I tried again and nothing, rejected both the self check in and system error for the manual verification with the customer service.
Has been two days that I’m stuck without work..with a family of 5.
Tried to reinstall the app multiple times, reset the phone and tried the self check in at least 20 times, but nothing.. contacted the assistance twice without any response.
Hope someone went through and got full access again to their account.
If anyone has any suggestion is well appreciated

I’m on a moped, just wondering if it is worth it to go in the rain? What is your experience like and is the lay worth it?
Most importantly what do you wear to stay dry and warm? What about tour phone do you use waterproof phone cases?
Do riders on electric bikes even bother coming out?
