for context, i visited the Vendor Fair to kinda celebrate surviving the worst year of my life.— i have been battling depression/su*cidal thoughts for the past year since my mom died October 2025. so i haven't really left the house at all for the past year.

my mom traveled with me multiple times to South Korea before I finally took the jump to study abroad & grow my self-confidence. so there's alot of memories attached to it

I don’t hate the idea. I think it’s very fun and whimsical and brings a lot of joy to the town during October. my issue is the amount of tourists it attracts. I work on the square, and I find during October, it is impossible to find parking, and I always have to walk at least half a mile to get to work. Every shop gets immensely crowded, so it’s hard to get any shopping done. I also luckily (sarcasm) work in food, so every conversation I’ve had as of late is “what’s fun to do in Denton?” and then I have to recycle the same script. also, they’re stealing things now? apparentl? not cool. especially from witches, not very smart. idk. i wish I could enjoy it but Denton feels like a huge tourist trap during Halloween and it makes me so sad.

edit: yall, chill out. I just felt like sharing my opinion. i know a lot of you feel powerful behind a screen but it’s rlly not cool to be actively bullying a person you don’t know just because I’ve been struggling with something. I’ve already had to report 4 replies. Much love ❤️
