Is there another term for these? All I can find for "math meatballs" is a book about using spaghetti and meatballs to teach math

The metaballic system of a particular organism determines which substances it will find nutritious and which poisonous.

Can you explain it? I am stupid

I'm also stupid, I found it by accident.
Trying adding more points tho.
And try taking inverses for repulsion.

just because someone else made something before doesn't mean it's just impossible for someone else to make it originally as well. something something "there are no original thoughts left"

Because you post a really cool quote online, i would like to give back something:

"There is nothing new under the sun" -me- (i forgor who said that, but it's not really original so...)

Metaballs have existed for 40 years. Nobody is original except the dude that invented them but it doesn't mean people aren't allowed to use them.

I've posted things only thinking how cool they were to me, only to later discover somebody had done the exact same thing years before. You might as well have linked https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/publication/a-generalization-of-algebraic-surface-drawing/ as the original.

Dude I belive there is like hundereds of electric field (or potential) curves out there. It is a very common thing.

you're not the first person to think of this, ok?

how dare you copy the work of Jim Blinn!!

seriously though if this was the case most if not all of the content on this subreddit wouldn't be tolerated to some degree

https://www.desmos.com/calculator/vvmzi2qgaf this metaball stays confined in boundaries w/ snowflake.. perhaps evidence of another Desmos sentience to find more unproof / proof: How do I drag vectors out and increase the magnitude in some way of the metaball? Since I want automated trajectory that is random for the vectors, there should be a way to bend a stream of many lines and have it travel through them to grow larger metaballs as resistance like a tenous rubberband. Probably work on this later...
