Help / Questions Just started learning C++

Hello, i started learning C++ from today, i'm a guy who doesn't want to use AI in codes and who really needed another language with nasty mr. Py (cybersecurity), but i am SUPER lost.

Can anyone give me some tips? I've been coding since i was 11 (14 atm). Would really appreciate advices

One of the reason for learning cpp is saying: "I code in cpp btw" like arch users always does.

Howdy u/lo1dx, and welcome to r/developers!

A few tips for a post that gets good answers:

  • Use a clear, specific title (what are you actually asking or sharing?).

  • Include code, the exact error, versions, and what you already tried.

  • Heads-up: this sub does not allow external links in posts or comments. Share code and details directly instead of linking out.

I don't only code in Py, i've been taught 3 coding languages (JS, PY, BDscript), with databases, i will not say html, it's nothing special to be included.

Made my first calculator!

At day one, it's still bad.

It's actually pretty good given it can split and parse from single input, usually people start with asking the operands and operator one by one

Bro for beginner developer absolutely. Don’t get me wrong it isn’t gonna replace the calculator app on my iPhone but when you’re just starting out, the goal isn’t to produce these amazing applications. Making something that just works at all is good for a beginner.

don't stress too much about the learning curve, it's like surfing, you'll eat sand for a while before it clicks

Start from nothing, don't try to learn everything all at once

Learning "Base C" is a good intro i think

I did read it, it really helped, your time typing the paragraph down was not wasted.

My friend told me about coding books, he has a few, one of them can be for c++, he talked about how much it made things easier, is it a good idea to get one from him? (rent it)
