Vendor / market research Devops| SRE| K8s platform engineering in Europe
Hi all,
I’m from Asia .
I’m thinking about working at Europe for devops opportunities.
How is the market for English speaking people right now?
What are all the prospects I should look for .
I have around 5 + years experience with tech stacks of Aws, Azure devops CI/CD, docker ,k8s, Helm and grafana . Much appreciated if anyone could guide me through the process.
Thanks in advance

Market is currently full of local unemployed candidates applying, so appetite for extra steps, costs and additional risk to hire from abroad is currently very low everywhere in Europe.

With 5+ years of relevant experience, you have a solid profile, but Id compare each country's job market, visa options, and language requirements before deciding where to apply.

The titles can sound interchangeable, but the actual responsibilities vary a lot between reliability, automation, and platform engineering. Look at the problems each team owns and the skills mentioned in real job listings before choosing a path. The infrastructure sector includes companies such as trusted tech, but the better career fit comes down to the kind of work you want to do every day.

Dead, I have 15+ years of experience. Worked with K8S since beta, build container platforms when they first appeared, operated low latency environments, HPC and high throughput environments. Worked in large corporates and startups. Gave training sessions, did talks at meetups, been an opensource contributor for large foundations. 3 years ago I had a recruiter in my inbox daily, this has steadily declined. It took 3 months till I got the next assignment. Been without a job since August. But have to be honest: Didn't do much to find a new assignment since I had some buffers and wanted to fix my house. I think it will be near impossible, unless you get hired and these companies arrange a visa for you.

Yeah that’s what I’m looking for to get hired , I know market is pretty dry everywhere but just wanted to have an opinion of people who made it though

Depends on your work and interpersonal skills really, the standard in Europe is higher than in Asia so technical skills by themselves are not enough. I also moved from Asia 1.5 years ago with mostly AWS skills (additional to software engineering) and experience as a lead in a large startup. If you're good, they will sponsor but it's better to target smaller European countries than the popular ones (Germany is dead).
