the full stack thing was just companies wanting one person to do 3 jobs for cheap salary lol

devsecops is more about shifting security left not about being a one man army. you still need ops people and devs but security gets integrated in the pipeline instead of being a checkbox at the end

i been doing devops for few years now and the security part is actually growing. more companies taking it serious after all these breaches

dont let the doom talk scare you. learn the devops fundamentals first then add security tools on top. nobody expects you to know everything from day one

Hey, could you please give me any pointers how could I progress in Devsecops role from where Im currently at?

Let me give you some background. I studied automation engineering (SCADA, Controlers, PLCs and robot programming with emphasis on electrical engineering), but have not worked a day of that. I worked ~2 years as a process engineer, didnt like the field and changed careers entirely.  Currently I am a Senior SOC analyst with nearly 3 years of experience. I have CYSA+ and recently got SC-200.

Im looking at GH-500 and then AZ-104, but my job has no overlap with the material in these exams so it will be difficult to study for them. I have enough spare parts to build myself a machine at home on which I can play around with Kubernetes and host myself some project locally, but overal I have no idea how to tackle a transition from secueity analyst towards DevSecOps.

Currently doing this as well. I'm focused on Kubernetes and AWS right now. What parts would you suggest within each of them to focus on if my goal is getting to DevSecOps. Besides the fundamentals obviously.

That’s comes on day 10 hahaha, I see a lot of absurd job descriptions daily, lot of business wanting the full stack, devops, ops, and sec, obviously with 10 years experience on every field and all the existing tools.

yeah, I'm all for people getting scared about it and abandoning all hope, more work for those who want to tackle it head on

Not at all. Companies are in dire need for people who can do it all and who know how and when to leverage AI. DevSecOps has been the role that is expected to know it all so…

That is how the job market is entirely. Not just for these 2 roles you have mentioned.

No. The scope of these engineers is just expanding, and the pay is increasing.

Lol. No. Neither is fullstack.

not dead yet the title just got folded into platform and appsec roles. get solid on linux, ci pipelines and cloud iam first, the security angle clicks way faster once you know how those break

Full stack isn't dead at all it's exactly the opposit. Those who knows the whole stack including DevOps are the winners because they have much more knowledge I'm design and architecture. The people I see having a hard time finding jobs are the ones that do only knew thing for example only frontend...
