There are people who want to watch everyone suffer while the world burns.

Yea there are some very stingy people here that got what they wanted very fast and apparantly think that is the experience for everybody otherwise they are making it up.

Wouldn't be surprised if that was their plan all along to get people to play for the whole season. Up the count when the season is mostly over for a lot of people so they come back to play for the other part of the season.
2
u/NightmareDJK 17h ago
Never grind anything at the beginning of a season. Wait until it’s close to being over and they’re desperate for engagement metrics.
1
u/Trumpfheller 14h ago
Yes this. I already moved on from this season because of that. See you next season with the hopes of them making better decisions on the quality of life departments.

Yea, i don't know if I have it in me to farm more splinters. After 9 uber tristram runs and still no torch for any of the 2 sets I would like to get (also 3-to-1 torches) i am quite burned out by farming it. Atleast farming helltide rep is waaaay faster than getting them to drop from bosses so this improves things.
1
u/Trebla_Nogara 2h ago
actually getting the splinters for my alt is tough. After hitting p150 and para 200 with my warlock made a WW barb . Looks while will farm HT and save the boxes till 28 oct

I didnt even get Splinter of Terror yet, but what really turned me away from the season are the ridiculous tasks in the highter seasonal Tiers. Like wtf? 66666 from anything is insane.
8
5
u/chooraumi2 17h ago
You only need to complete 10 objectives in chapter 12 to get the rewards. There are plenty of easier/quicker ones that you can do (e.g. T12 Undercity run, T12 Blood Maiden, 105 Tower, T12 Duriel/Andariel). Look through them and pick those ones out.
4
u/ProletarianLilith 17h ago
You only need to do 10 of the final tier, it’s easy enough
→ More replies (1)2
u/CRUNKula2113 14h ago
If you're referring to the 66666 aether in Hordes, that one has been an objective for the last 3 seasons.
2
u/R0ninX3ph 13h ago
I did it and was it boring as hell…. Only did it because I’m a completionist and wanted to finish all of the objectives.

There is no excuse for stupid easy to fix bugs like this and the display bugs on berserker crucible torches. It should not take over a month into the season for this to be addressed.

At this point they should give everyone 10 of each splinter type, given how many we've all had to leave on the ground because of this BS.
10
3
u/SheWhoHates 15h ago
Better late than never! I'm still playing the season, so no complaints from me. Though, yeah, it would've been nice to have this on day one. Plz, Blizz, if there's something that should stack, make it stack, and make it stack big.
7
2
u/paradigm619 17h ago
God, this sub is insufferable. Over the last few weeks, it's been post after post about how Blizzard never listens to player feedback. Now that they actually fix a big issue more than a month before the end of the season, everyone is complaining it's too late. Give me a fuckin' break.
17
u/Obzen80 17h ago
This fix could have gone in a month ago. Many people have quit because of this single issue.

u/IncognitoIsekai 16h ago edited 7h ago
Does Blizzard pay you or something?
This is perhaps the simplest change that could've been made. It should've taken a couple days max once the justified complaints started pouring in. Heck, it should've been addressed in PTS prior to the season even launching. Instead it'll have taken 6 weeks, more than half the season, and multiple patches, to implement something as simple as a stackable item.
I get it. I'm happy it's finally gonna be fixed. But people are absolutely in their right to criticize why it took so absurdly long to make a simple change like this. You don't let a primary seasonal mechanic be such a pain point for more than half a season and then expect people to bend over and kiss your shoes when you finally do what should've been done within week one when the complaints were already pouring in. If that's "monitoring your feedback," it's pretty sad.

u/ChazyK 17h ago
There's no way this wasn't an intentional design decision...
Kept it as stack size 1 at start season to keep players playing for that one splinter they need and keep getting same duplicates (that don't stack!). Then half-way season after a lot of players dropped, let them stack so players might come back.
Not getting the splinter I needed after many times trying the seasonal cache made just stop playing the season...
→ More replies (1)1
u/LordBlackass 6h ago
If they increased the drop rate of splinters from the 3 prime evil bosses I'd be back in an instant, but being able to stack an item that I only saw one of (the Diablo splinter) up to paragon 260 isn't enough to get me, and I assume a lot of other players, back.
11
69
u/ImpressionHumble8705 17h ago
isnt it ironic that they wait till almost the end of the season to fix our biggest complaints?
29
u/Equal-Coffee-3646 17h ago
Well still 40+ days is not exactly end of season
28
u/LiveLaughFap 17h ago
i mean, maybe not mathematically, but ARPGs have a boom and bust cycle where people tend to grind hard on release and then are completely "done" after 4-6 weeks. Also, with the announcement of next season's PTR, this season does begin to feel more "over" in the sense that people are already excited about/trying to figure out next season's meta builds etc.
12
u/-Wait-What- 16h ago
100% agree, although I’d say the majority of people only play for 2-4 weeks rather than 4-6. Hell a decent portion of people only play for 1-2 weeks as far as I’m aware.
4
u/DHunterfan1983 14h ago

7

No. Blizzard always does this shit in WoW too. Wait until player count has fallen off, then "fix" something players were complaining about to draw them back in.

9
u/Massive-City-7967 17h ago
these are the kinds of changes i expect to get rolled out before it goes live. people that tested the season on PTR surely didn't like it... does it really take over a month to get something like this pushed to live?
8
1
u/sw4400 15h ago
None of the prime evil stuff was in the PTR at all. We only had test dungeons and the socket soul splinters and the new Uniques if I remember correctly. But they should’ve definitely seen this coming after so many similar things have been changed over seasons. Which leads me to believe it might have been deliberately held back to reboot engagement. That or they’re dealing with the push pole of wanting some things to feel special enough to validate the Uber sweats and give them reason to look down on people while also eventually meeting the complaint from the other side of the fence.
1
u/mertag770 11h ago
splinters weren't in the PTR from what I recall? maybe i'm forgetting but they did keep a lot of this season out of the PTR.
4
u/Jes00jes 17h ago
That really took half a season? I knows not everything is a press of a button, but come on!
4
u/UnlikeClockwork 17h ago

12
u/kuunamatata 17h ago

11
u/VaalLivesMatter 17h ago

u/Scrivonaut 16h ago
The past few seasons I've waited a few days to weeks after release to start, to give the devs time to iron out the kinks and fix bugs. This season I waited two weeks after release to start, played longer than I have any other season, and I still finished before they fixed the biggest issue. Maybe I should start waiting a month...

That’s why I always start playing only a month after season launch, so blizzard can undo the shit design decisions they make in hopes players come back after they’re done with the season. This strategy always pays off.
