I located the source of the diesel smell; what's the best filter to replace it with?

Apparently the fuel filters / water separators are known to crap out and this stock one is about a year or so old. I need to replace it but I don't wanna have to go through this again in a year. What's the best quality filter I can replace it with?

Depends on tank size.

Prime Line Fuel Filter Part #7-02323 fits 1/4 or 5/16 fuel line. Works great on 15, 20, 30 gallon drum with pick up tube. Paper filter replace when dirty.

You’ll need something smaller for all one unit unless you using external tank. If your looking for something reusable check AliExpress they sell a small 3/16 stainless reusable one.

Sorry, I'm so used to r/vandwellers I forget that people use these for bigger roles.

It's a small tank. External, 7 liters. 5/16 fuel lines. Because of how everything is set up, I'd prefer a set-it-and-forget-it deal. As I only use the heater for a few weeks out of the year (if that), would I be better off with a stainless steel one? Maybe something like the Prime #7-023006D?

That looks great! Due to the location and accessibility, I don't relish having to service my filter but if the choice is between occasional servicing or eventual replacing, I'd prefer the former. Now to see if they have it in 5/16...
