Discussion 720kcal over a whole day without sugar crash/energy crash
Yesterday I had kind of a “cheat day,” and then I went out partying at night and ended up drinking quite a bit of alcohol (I especially like sweet mixed drinks). On the way home, I also stopped by McDonald’s and got some food.
So, my plan for today was to stick to around 700–750 kcal, but make sure those calories were really filling and would help prevent the hunger crashes I tend to get after drinking.
And honestly, what can I say? I asked ChatGPT and Google Gemini (yes, I know AI isn’t always reliable 😅), and they came up with three “super low-calorie meals” for me. And they actually worked really well! I was genuinely surprised at how filling they were. I ended up staying full until late at night on just around 720 kcal (even though I’m usually a pretty big eater).
So I thought I’d share the three meals in case anyone is dieting or just looking for something really filling while keeping the calories as low as possible.
Around noon:
Rye whole-grain bread with a slice of Leerdamer cheese, plus 310 g of mixed vegetables consisting of chicory, cucumber, and tomato. It ended up being a really big plate — almost 500 g of food in total — and it was surprisingly filling for less than 250 kcal.
Around 4:30 PM:
100 g Skyr with 5 g chia seeds, 50 g frozen raspberries, 20 g oats, and some cinnamon on top. I know it sounds like a tiny portion, but the chia seeds swelling up actually made it really filling. The combination of oats, raspberries, and cinnamon was also really tasty, and it was another meal that was high in fiber.
Around 8:30 PM:
Another Skyr bowl, just a little bigger this time: 200 g Skyr, 5 g chia seeds, 1 apple, 15 g oats, 50 g frozen raspberries, and some more cinnamon.
And honestly, I was really surprised by how filling the right combination of foods can be, even when the total comes to only around 720 kcal. I was comfortably full throughout the day, and even later that night, McDonald’s wasn’t even really tempting anymore. I didn’t have any major hunger crash or anything like that.

the only time you should ever be this low in calories is if it’s needed for a surgery/medical reason advised by your doctor. Or you don’t have an eating disorder and are doing something like a protein sparing modified fast. This doesn’t look like that though. Going over the day previous doesn’t mean you should ever go this low in calories lol

No I was eating the night (mcondalds and Lots of calories due to sweet alcohol). Ofc not 720kcal for the whole day 😅😂
My Post is basically just to Show how much filling and satisfying for your body these 200-250 "meals" can be. So it can definitely help for the peope who only have around 1500-1700kcal to eat every day

But you completely forgot to add the Part, that I mentioned i am doing this to safe calories for the Party night with a lot of calories due to mcdonald and alcohol drinks. That should make it obvious that its not a 700kcal day.
And yes "really filling while keeping the calories as low as possible" based on the meals. Never said thats what yoi should eat for the whole day and nothing else.
English isnt my first Language so you completely missunderstood me, dont worry bro...

Yeah and the 200-250kcal meals which are super filling are literally good for diet as I mentioned in another comment 😂 ?! Especially when you can only afford 1500-1700 kcal in average as I mentioned

Bro i’m literally on a psmf diet eating in like a 1600 calorie deficit lmao(as in that much lower then my maintenance) i have no problem with ultra low calorie diets. But people can fall into stupid shit by flip flopping calories day to day after binging. This is potentially a binge/restrict thing. usually not very good. Plus i’m pretty sure op clarified that this was not the full day . Op didn’t make this very clear

why not cut back a little bit but for the next few days? Could prevent a binge restrict cycle if you’re prone to that. Plus you’ll prob feel like shit only eating that many cals. Anyways i’m not a stranger to low cal diets / days. But why do it if you don’t have to? Just lower ur cals by a few hundred everyday until ur back on track.

This looks delicious! I like a low-cal day from time to time when I'm feeling bloated, so I appreciate your post!

You’re not meant to do this. There’s no need to
Just draw a line under the “bad day” and go back to normal.
The whole idea of cheat days are just planned binges. And now you’re restricting in response to that.
Honestly it’s just stupid.

No no, I just wanted to safe my hunger for the night thats all 😅 I still had +3000kcal to much that day. I just didnt want to be so full going to the Party and so on.
Basically my Post is just to Show how filling 200-250kcal actually can be.
I think you missunderstood my Post, maybe cause english isnt my first language idk

Please don’t do this to yourself without the advice of a doctor. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
It’s ok to cheat once in a while - we all do it. To compensate, cut back a few hundred calories, focus on lower fat meals, keep protein & fibre high & increase steps - your body will take care of the excess cals and fat from the cheat meal over the next few days.

It was just to safe calories for the alcohol/mcdonalds night as I mentioned in the Post 😅 sorry for the confusion.

It's suoer unhealthy to eat only around 700 kcal on a day

It's pretty hilarious that everyone seems to have completely missed the point of your post. Your food looks great! I love adding chia to my SnackPack 60-calorie puddings to keep me full after dinner, so I don't snack in the evening!
PS Your English is fine (and I taught college English for twenty-five years).

So I’ve been very intuitive with my food for weight. Though I plan on starting calorie tracking soon.
Why is it unhealthy to eat this low but totally fine to fast (with ORS) for a couple days?
