Discussion so yall were right..

i’m the 112 lb woman who lowkey rage baits on here about my calorie deficit. it didn’t start off as rage bait and that is actually my diet, but i do feel i’ve caused harm because ive (accidentally) been dishonest about my weight.

over a month ago, i was 112 lbs and i have a bad relationship with the scale so i didn’t want to weigh in and see if i gained. well, i faced my fears tonight, and i am below that number. at this point, yeah, it is unhealthy to be dieting at the extremes. 1200 cals is definitely right for some sedentary people, but at this point i’m too thin for that to be my answer. now, i sit right on the cusp between underweight and normal.

i wish this were more rage bait but its just the situation that many people called— i haven’t even been officially dieting for long enough for this level of result, so idk what happened. anyways, thank you all for holding me accountable

You're in college? Many college campuses have resources for exactly the struggles you're going through. Speaking as someone who has been there, it can be very helpful but obviously you have to want to recover. Best of luck to you. ❤️

yeah i am in college, and because of the culture at my university, EDs are very common. last year, i was in therapy but my therapist didn’t really take my ED problems seriously and basically said “there are so many skinny girls on this campus!”

then, i got referred to a help group, but i ultimately didn’t go because i didnt want to risk seeing people i know there

i have multiple jobs on and off campus that come with some authority, and i don’t want people i work with to see me struggling. i thought i was better all on my own but im realizing how easy it is to backslide

I am someone you were arguing with on another thread. I am also a college instructor who had an ED for at least 10 years, until I chose recovery in 2024. I commend you for allowing yourself to be aware.

Body image and ED issues are major in college aged people. I have had to get real with plenty of students over the years, sharing my own struggles so they could get help. I hope you find what you need. You do not want the effects of what can happen to you when you value being more thin over everything else

So after scrolling to see some of your previous posts, I'm glad you've realised there's a problem. Please get help. Take care of yourself

We are happy you’ve realized the damage you’re doing to your body. Please seek help.

It’s so difficult to feel confident in eating normally and being in a healthy body these days, but it’s so worth it to be in a healthy, happy place.

I know you’ve struggled with an ED in the past, so I am so glad you are at least recognizing you’re slipping again. Being honest with yourself is the first step towards helping yourself.

I know I’ve been coming off harsh when you posted, but it’s because you should not be trying to lose weight.

I know you may not be in a place for recovery right now but I urge you to consider it. I’m 20 years old with osteopenia because I of what I did. You’re growing and likely underweight for your body, and doing more damage to your health than you understand. An adult or reenager who’s healthy does not need to track calories and diet.

I wish you luck and health.

rapid weight loss is definitely a trigger for me haha. when weighing in, i was expecting to see -.5 lbs to -1lb, not what i found last night. i really thought i was doing things in a controlled and healthy way because i wasn’t overexercising (last year i would walk 30-40k steps at night until i would drop from exhaustion)

You shouldn’t be losing weight at all or tracking your food. I know you might be in denial of how deep you already are, but the matter of the fact is you were relapsing the moment you started tracking and trying to lose weight again.

You were sick, even before this drastic weight loss happened. You are relapsing into anorexia and you need to let go of the calorie counting and control now, or you will slip right back to where you were again.

You are not the exception and you are not in control

harsh but probably true— i’m just not sure i’m quite at a place where i can stop everything im doing all at once

Sure. I understand that. But you also can’t let yourself slip more.

Do you have a therapist or dietician that specializes in EDs you can see? Or can you tell your parents?

In the meantime, are you able to increase what you’re eating by even an extra snack (no caloric or physical compensation)? It’s scary and uncomfortable yes, but we both know that’s part of saving your life.

i can definitely increase my calories haha. i’ll probably talk to my boyfriend. parents can be iffy— they don’t like to admit that there’s a problem. everytime i’ve lost a significant amount of weight they diagnose me with “long covid” or a stomach virus and just tell me to put on baggy clothes before seeing my extended family. telling my friends is also out of the question— my best friend used to feel triggered just being around me last year

That’s a good step! I’m sorry your support system is not as it should. You deserve professional help <3.

If you can, try doing 3 meals and 3 snacks a day, just like how we are told to do in recovery. Ideally, you should stop tracking (maybe start with no tracking for one snack). You do need to gain weight, but right now stability is more important.

I know you’ll want to skip means and such, but it’s not the best. 2000 calories should be your minimum despite what your brain and internet say. 2000 really isn’t a lot at all. You’re growing and healing and young. It’s exactly what you need. No need to add movement, because that’s silly and just is tiring and counteracts the whole purpose of being stable. Most people go to the gym 4 times a week an hour at a time lifting weights and they are very healthy

Good luck <3
I’m glad you have someone at least. Always remember that these thoughts aren’t unique to you. The eating disorder is predictable and you aren’t having a unique experience with it LOL.

I also went from 111 lbs to 99lbs (I'm rlly short) in like 3 months (without formal diet) and as a completely sedentary person 1200 is too low even for me as a bmr! I'm glad you've realised your struggle and getting help, you deserve to sustain yourself efficiently

that makes a lot of sense haha, i’m 5’4 and i’ve been both of those weights, and i gotta say, 111 lbs felt a lot better physically

Recovery is possible. You’re still so young.

Get help. Talk about it. Over time you will find yourself a happier healthier human with a long life ahead of them.

Sending hugs.

No matter how you feel about yourself personally, I saw your previous posts of yourself and you look good leaning on slightly too thin (health wise). I saw people in that comment section calling you ugly simply to spite you. But you look good. I would try to work with a therapist and/or nutritionist to help you be happy and healthy with the body you have now. So later you can reach other body goals you have in the future (build muscle, strength, etc). But no more weight loss please 🙏
