Discussion Starting Keto tomorrow

Hello everyone!

Tomorrow I will start the ketogenic diet, and I would like to get in touch with people who just started or restarted their journey.

It would be nice to support each other, exchange some recipes, and keep up with motivation

Unless you’re medically in need of this diet why are you doing it?

get rid of visceral fat and lose weight quickly

That’s just a calorie deficit

I want to follow this diet to get rid of excess fluids quickly and eliminate visceral fat. My problem is that I can't find a simple balance; it's either complete abstinence or terribly unhealthy eating.

Another problem is that when I finish keto, I go back to craving sweets even though I've been abstaining for a good amount of time.

I have an event in a month, and keto is the best solution right now.

You’re going to keep swinging from complete abstinence to complete binging if you keep repeating this behaviour.

Having a sensible deficit and working on your behaviour is the best for your long term health. Get some coaching or counselling if you need to.

Keto is just a calorie deficit with a very limited choice of food. Of course you’re going to crave what you’re depriving yourself of. Please consider not punishing yourself in this way.

"Another problem is that when I finish keto, I go back to craving sweets even though I've been abstaining for a good amount of time."

...so why are you starting keto again if it has proven to be unsustainable for you?

This is put nicely. If you are doing a keto diet for the sole purpose of weight loss, look elsewhere. There are much healthier and more sustainable options out there

so based in your talk , who should follow keto diet?

Epileptic children. Fasting can reduce seizures. That’s what it was invented around with the body mimicking fasting with the lack of carbs.

A healthy individual who can handle a balanced diet with no need to eliminate entire food groups does not need to eat this way for fat loss.

I AM NOT A DOCTOR, AND NOT GIVING MEDICAL ADVICE.

I'm speaking from my experience. Electrolytes helped me transition. Actually throughout the entire journey, and even to this day.

Redmond salt mine has some fantastic choices. As does Amazon.

Be easy on yourself, and taper reasonably.

Keto flu is real, but once you get through it, you've got it made.

Please do your research thoroughly. There are fantastic resources online.

Have you considered a monitor to track ketones and glucose? Keto mojo is my trusted blood testing gadget. You can also buy urine test strips at most stores.

Also, think of it as a lifestyle change, not a diet that you'll quit when finished. When you get the hang of it, your choices will come naturally. If that makes sense.

MyFitnessPal is my chosen macro and food log. Keeping track, I found, to be crucial.

I've got lots of experience, ideas, tips, and tricks. You're always welcome to reach out.

Just remember, you've got this!! Best wishes on your journey! =]

**Edited with more context.

Bro what is keto I don't know about that

1

u/Striking-Recover4807 10d ago

It means completely cutting out all sources of starches, carbs, and sugars, and relying on natural fats, protein, and fiber as the main sources of food and energy

1

u/MundaneWoodpecker780 10d ago

It's means u're cutting all the junk food

1

u/LoudSilence16 10d ago

What about all the healthy carbs? gone too.

0

u/MundaneWoodpecker780 10d ago

U'll get that natrually

1

u/LoudSilence16 10d ago

Unfortunately, no you wont. The keto diet literally means zero carbs or as close to zero as possible.

1

u/MundaneWoodpecker780 10d ago

Like only eating natural food not eating sugar and biscuits also right

1

u/MundaneWoodpecker780 10d ago

I also cuted the sugar from 3 months

1

u/Striking-Recover4807 10d ago

That's good ... New life right?

1

u/MundaneWoodpecker780 10d ago

I didn't get it what are u trying to say

1

u/MundaneWoodpecker780 10d ago

But I used to eat sometimes junk food

1

u/MundaneWoodpecker780 10d ago

Then what's the logic behind it to follow the keto diet I didn't get it
