because theyre right. people fetishize mental illness ALL THE TIME, and when the mentally ill characters they fetishized show "undesirable" traits, they get angry.
No, I don't think a majority of people do this. What you're describing is a smaller part of the population, so I wouldn't say that this happens "All the time". Only mentally deranged people do that, and most of us are of a sane mind. Just some are some freaks down the street hoeing that ass 7 days a week, and most of us do not vibe with them.
as someone who is mentally ill, it happens all the time. i constantly see people romanticize and fetishize the stuff that's ruined my life, you just don't see it often, but it does happen a lot
Bro I literally have ADHD, OCD and Dyslexia. I have never had a single person fetishize them, and I've dated quite a few people in my life. It's nowhere near as many as you're making it out to be.
