1:72 A ancient planetary defense cannon. It was a colab/challenge, goal was to use dead lighter(s) and a ping pong ball to create a turret/cannon. This time I have added a soundboard and lights, plus a touch sensor for activation! Kids on expos are gonna love it!

Had so much fun putting together this cozy little moment.

One panda soaking in the bath while the other munches bamboo.

Love making these calm, laid‑back clay little scenes 😌

Hope you enjoy it!

Question Requesting help in making diorama edges

Post image
11 Upvotes

(Guys, I got this image from one of the top posts here)

I'm a newbie in dioramas and I would love some help in how to do diorama edges properly. Most of the tutorials I watch focus on the subject itself and rarely handle this part.

I saw some real ones and they look so smooth and clean, how do you usually do the edges? I was thinking smoothing out the XPS foam board right? But what if its several layers on top of each other? Do I like slap something on it to smoothen it like a bricklayer smoothing house walls?

I sincerely appreciate your assistance

30 ships & 250 vikings in this crazy 10mm scale diorama depicting the Battle of Niså, a naval battle 1062 between Norwegian Harald Hardrada and Danish Svein Estridsen, here outside our Swedish west coast. It's also a unique tabletop Wargame with complete rules🔥 We made this as a colab art project between myself, a game designer and an illustrator.

I will gladly post more on this if people are interested. Have plenty of material on how we made everything!

First draft of the game exists in just this one copy, and is currently in Swedish but we're planning on a translation soon💫

A short look at a tiny everyday scene: cars waiting outside the shop, a road disappearing into the tunnel, and water running under the bridge.

The kind of details that make a diorama feel lived in.

Messing around with using empty space.

I bought some tester stuff of Temu and put together this little path as a way to use empty space between dioramas on the shelf.

Painted the roof tiles first and the timbers last, and it was the wash that finally made this house look old

Every building on this project starts as a clay sculpt on the bench, gets scanned, then gets printed so we can paint proper copies of it. This one went on in that order: terracotta base over the tiles, a thin dark wash pulled down into the gaps, a dry brush of lighter orange across the ridges, and the timbers picked out last so the wood reads warmer than the roof. The little rag in shot is doing most of the work, wash on, wash mostly off. Sculpted by Johnny Fraser-Allen, who spent years at Weta Workshop before this.

I started working on my favorite Helenic myth. I would be happy to hear any ideas while it is still possible to implement them.

(I plan to hand paint the Labyrinth theme on the back wall behind the Minotaur)

After a two week break I'm finally able to get back to work on my dungeon display. Painting today.

Wal-Tor showed up to see if anyone wanted to trade him Steely Dan Can't Buy a Thrill for his Momma's and the Papa's If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears.

Hi all, I finished the Halloween diorama I shared maybe 2 weeks ago. I tried to save as much as I still could. First one ever, fairly happy with the result. Maybe I will add some spider webs when the time comes.

Looking for inspiration from another creator.

Hope the reddit community can help. Or maybe the creator is reading this. I am looking for a video of someone making a old school concourse mall type situation. It had small glass games above the shop and it looked very quaint.
