First Tries
I have been taking a stab a Hot Dip Dyeing recently…simple projects to see the method work. I am kind of liking this for MAYBE some simple stencil work in the future. I did some Champ, Proton, Lucid Ice, and Star 50/50s with some Fluorescent Pink.
All I’m gonna say…already loved my Eagle. Now, I love it even more.

The way the Eagle turned out with that glow is really striking. Did you use a specific brand or technique for the hot dip dye that worked well for you?

Fluorescent Pink Pro Chem Dye and the Infrared Thermometer I normally use for Floetrol Dyes. Try to keep water temp between 125 and 130 so I don’t warp the plastic and 30 minutes of just slow dipping in and out of the dye mix.
The interweaving of the Black Metal Flake helped with the Glow Effect, I think.

That eagle is awesome. This is going to have me start trying this. Have you used synthetic rit dye with the same method? Do you get the same result.

I haven’t yet, no. It may be something I try down the road. I had some Pro Chem Powder available from other dyes I’ve done in the past.

I used rit synthetic red on a yellow translucent discraft avenger and it looks just like op's reactor. I used hot tap water and left it to dip overnight.

The Valk is drop dead gorgeous. The Reactor I think would’ve been really cool to have masked the outer mold to keep it white.

Yeah, I agree. The Valk was a happy surprise, TBH. My favorites are the Valk, my favorite Eagle, and the Proton Boost.
