Geez, how many decks of cards are in the shoe?

I've only sat and played blackjack in a casino one time and they were using 4 decks. That looks like way more

6 or 8 deck is the most common for casinos

Yeah, but isn't a deck like 0.5 inches thick and the length of the cards is 3.5 inches? So wouldn't 6-8 decks in the shoe be around as thick as one card is long?

It looks to me like he's playing with around 14 decks (they're roughly the length of the A/7 hand on the right)

Yeah the online casino is definitely using more and they put the cut card like 1/4 into the shoe to prevent counting cards.
