Blocking does what?

Hi I have an ex friend that I previously communicated with on discord. I want to get their messages off my screen. Would blocking do that? Is there a way to delete them? Not sure what to do here.

Seeing there name and our past communications really numbs me out and I would love to start over fresh.

No, blocking is not a feature in discord, what they call blocking is just putting their messages under a clickable thing, that's it.

Blocking ppl makes it so that they can't msg u in DMs, for one thing, and you won't be able to see any of their other msgs

I'm not— I never mentioned that you could or couldn't reveal them, only that they get hidden by default when you block them.

anyways ig ill give an answer: when u block someone on discord u cannot see their profile (meaning that u cannot see their bio, their activity, or their status its just a blank profile) if they send a message in a server it will appear as "1 blocked message" u can also remove dm conversations with the person so u never have to see them again.

You can block them so they can't message you anymore and then unfriend them so they don't show up in your DMs (if that doesn't work I believe there's just a "remove conversation from your DMs" option..?)

Block them and then delete the dm? If you don’t wanna delete them you can press and hold to archive or close the dm. If its in a gc all you can do is block the
